Pretty Easter card

Good afternoon everyone!

Today's card I made to enter into a facebook challenge at

March's challenge was to use the color green somewhere on your project,
use an old paper line and add one hidden item on your project.

Here is my project.....

My green pieces are the leaves,
the pearls (although they don't look very green in this picture)
and the glitter around the egg is green.

The old paper line I used is Le Cirque from Graphic45.
I'll be going through withdrawals on this one because I just realized this is the last sheet of this paper from this collection.

And my hidden element.....
a tag!

The banner below the center tag/pocket and the Easter egg element are from

How cute is that little singing chickie on that Easter egg?
Love that little guy!

Altered cigar box...

Good morning everyone!

While during one of my usual distractions,
as I was cleaning my craft room recently,
I decided to alter a cigar box I found hiding in my closet.

I'll finish cleaning my craft room one of these days!

Over at Craft Hoarders Anonymous challenge #4 is
Show some Sparkle, Glitz or Glam,
I will be entering my box there.

Here it is.....

I think it has a simple kind of glam and my sparkle is my wheat sprays.

Looking at the picture I just realize the only new thing on this is the flower.
I've had the Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime Collection papers for a while.
The trim I used was on the bottom of my jar of lacy trims.
The ribbon was given to me by a friend a couple years ago.

And the legs, I'm just realizing,
I bought last year for another project,
that I haven't gotten to yet!
I just realized that...
as I turned in my chair and see the piece I was going to put them on
sitting right beside me now!
Oops, guess I'll be shopping for some more soon!
LOL

I left the box simple because I will be using this on my bedside table to hold all those wonderful things I need beside me at night...glasses, inhaler, etc...
Now maybe I'll stop knocking things off the table and into the trash while I sleep! LOL

Below is a close up of the flower, wheat spray
and bow (made with my Bow-it-all)

Hope you have a great weekend!

Spool candle stick.....

Good morning everyone!

Hope you all are having a great week!

Today I want to show you another decor piece I made with a few more goodies I bought during my antique & internet shopping sprees!

Here's my spool candle stick.....

Once again I forgot to take pictures of the pieces separately before putting this together.

The spool was the piece I found at the antique mall.
I used papers from the
Countryside Villa paper pkg from the Paper Studio on it and the bottle.
I sanded the edges after I glued the papers down and added some vintage photo distress ink to the edges.

Below is a close up of the top of the spool.

The star is another antique mall find and the little glass jar was a wedding favor piece I had.

I used a variety of trims and a piece of material around the bottles and spool.
Also a piece of twine and button for the bow on the spool center.

The tall bottle is an old syrup bottle I had here in my stash.

Below is a close up of the battery operated candle I found at
Factory Direct Craft Supply.

If you haven't seen my other decor piece you can see it HERE

Have a great week!

Anniversary card

Good morning all!

Today's card was made for my daughter and her husband who recently celebrated their anniversary.

I started with a card base I cut and folded from cardstock.
I added a piece of the freebie paper (script paper) from Gecko Galz this month.
I cut it to fit the card folds and cover.
I also used it to add to the little envelop I put on the back fold of the card.

I had the jute ribbon ready to go, with gesso painted here and there on it.
It's been laying on my desk for quite a while.
I started it for another project then changed my mind.
I thought it would be perfect for this card.

I wet the heart and crinkled it, then dried it and inked it with fired brick & vintage photo distress ink.

I stamped the sentiment on the banner and added a couple of gem/brads that I have been hoarding.

I used a few stamps that I've had for a while...sadly unused & neglected.
I used vintage photo & walnut stain distress ink to stamp the images,
then fussy cut around them and added vintage photo & fired brick distress ink on them.

I used some fired brick distress ink on the wooden butterfly also.

The flowers were sprayed with perfect pearl spray mist.
Also on my card are a couple of trim pieces from my stash.

Here is a look at the tag out of the envelop...

The  couple image is from Gecko Galz
Two to Tango collage set.

Also from Gecko Galz is the "Love" bingo card behind the couple image,
from the Hearts Galore collage set.

The bows were made on my bow-it-all.

Happy Anniversary you two!
I love you!

The Easter bunny's coming soon...

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a cute Bunny Scarecrow piece to show you!

Isn't she adorable?

I gave her a purse to carry her Easter postcards & tickets in!

Once again...
I didn't get a good before picture!

Here is a shot after I started .....
(I added the pink bow, the lace skirt top layer and the pearls on the wrists and ankles)

Below you can see the skirt that was on there already.
It had a little piece on the front that I ripped off.

Below you might be able to see that there was a little green felt bow at her neck that I topped with my pink bow.

The hat was a separate piece on a stick, that I altered and added to my pretty little bunny scarecrow.

Here is another look at the finished piece.....

I also added a couple of roses to her waist.

Primative candle lamp decor.....

Good afternoon everyone!

I took a ride up to the antique store last week,
then did a bit of internet shopping.

My goal.....
find some decor pieces for my home.

We've been here for 2 1/2 yrs now and I have yet to really get to decorating!
Part of the reason is the lack of furniture...
some of what we own is still back,
too many states away,
 in a shed
and
some of what we have here was torn apart by a dog!
I would love to be able to buy a few new pieces but as you all know furniture can be a bit pricey so we are dealing!

As much as I'd like to start with furniture,
I've gotten to the point though where I am tired of waiting so instead of starting with a new sofa and maybe a chair or two I am starting with the decor bits...
a table or two...
a few shelves to hang on the walls...
a couple of altered pieces I've made...

Which brings me to what I have to show you today!

Forgive me but I always forget to take pictures of the before pieces!
(I did take pic's of a couple pieces just not all of them!)

Here is what I made.....

I love that light bulb!
LOL
I bought the little candle lamp online at
Factory Direct Craft.

Below you can see the little wooden sign.....

I found the rectangular galvanized pan/bucket at the antique store.

I also found these there too...
the sunflower, star and the wooden sentiment sign

Another look at my new piece in front of my window.....

Spring tag.....

Good morning friends!

I hope your week has started out well!

Today's Gecko Galz DT project I have to show you is a Spring Tag to show you!

I don't know about you but I'm hoping spring is here to stay now...boy what a winter we had!

Here is my tag.....

I cut the tag shape with double thick cardstock.
I added a couple of the Jodi Lee Natures Garden papers.

The darling image is from Gecko Galz Easter Bonnet collage collection.

Some of the flowers, the resist canvas (dressform) and zipper pull are all from Prima.
The dressform was sprayed with
Fuzzy Navel Peach from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

The rest of the flowers and lace trims are from my stash.
I used one of the lace trims to make a skirt for the dress form.

I shaped the wire and curled the ends,
then topped that with a bow I made with seam binding
( from Really Reasonable Ribbon),
 using my bow-it-all.

This beauty went to my niece for her birthday.

Congratulations Love Birds card.....

Good morning everyone!

This morning I want to show you the Congratulation's card I sent to my niece who recently got engaged.

My background papers are from Graphic45's
On the Boardwalk collection.
I distressed the edges of all the papers.

The banner is from My Artistic Adventures
I stamped that with broken china distress ink and added a couple I-rock gems.

The birds image is from Gecko Galz Birds of a Feather.

The shaped mat behind the birds image as well as the one I used on the inside of the card were cut on my Silhouette Cameo. I inked the edges of both with more broken china distress ink.

Below I also used broken china distress ink to stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card.

Below you can see that I added more I-rock gems to the upper corners of the card.

You can also see some cheesecloth hanging out from behind the image & mat.

After digging through my hoarded stash of metal bits I added the "love birds" metal piece with a brad to the image.

All the bows were made with my bow-it-all!

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Pyramid card

Good morning everyone!

I wanted to do something a little different so I made a pyramid card.
I haven't made one of these for a while now and forgot how much fun they are.

I kept this one pretty simple because I wanted it to go in an envelope easily.

Here is my card.....

The background paper I used for this is a freebie sheet from Gecko Galz.
The beautiful lady is from the Easter Bonnets collage set, also from Gecko Galz.
Another Gecko Galz piece is the pink paper I used for the banner, the boarder punch and behind the lady image.
It is from the Solarium paper pkg.

The little rose image is from My Artistic Adventures,
I gave my rose some sparkle with glitter.

Oh and speaking of glitter I also added some all around the outer edge of the lovely lady image and a bit on the banner.

I stamped the sentiment on the banner with vintage photo distress ink.

On each side I have either crochet trim, ribbon or lace trims!
There is also a bit of lace trim or ribbon on the lower edges of each side as well.

The bows I made with my bow-it-all.

I added a gem to one piece of trim and pearls along the lower edge of the one side in the picture just above.

In the photo below you can see the pink paper behind the lady's image.
You can also see the seam of the card.
I used some sticky back velcro to hold the card together when set up.

Thank you for stopping by to look at my pretty little card!
Hope you all are having a great week!

Altered Tea Candle box.....

Hi friends!

Tonight I want to show off a candle holder I altered today.

Below is a picture of what it looked like before.....

I grabbed a few of these, for $1.50 each, at a dollar store last year.

I used a sheet of Graphic45's
Once Upon a Springtime Collection paper
to cover all the sides, top and bottom of the box.
I used mod podge to adhere it all.

I sanded all the edges, then added some vintage photo distress ink.
Love that vintage look!

I added the lace trim from my stash.

The tag and flower were made with
My Artistic Adventures
I'm out of printer ink so I was lucky enough to have this collage set printed already!

I cut a tag down to make it small enough for the box and used a couple of flower punches to make the flower with the remainder of the tag.
I added a pink pearl to the center of the flower and wrapped some fibers around the back.

I added some glitter on the tag and banner.....
Lettuce on the banner & Wild Rose on the tag from Art Glitter.

Before the glitter, I added a bit of vintage photo distress ink to the banner, tag and flower.

I added a couple mulberry roses & leaf to the flower cluster then
 added them all,
 overlapping the tag & banner.
