Treasured Times Rubber Stamp & Scrapbooking Blog Hop

Woohoo!

It's time for our first blog hop over at

We have a very talented group of stamp designers and
Jody, our wonderful host,
takes those designs and makes stamps out of them for all of us to play with.
You can get stamps that are made from clear polymer or digi.

***
We also have a monthly challenge and everyone is invited to join in.

We, on the Design Team, will enter creations we've made with one of our Stamp Designers wonderful stamps (you can see mine below),
however...
you can use any stamp you have to join in the challenge as long as you use the requirements specified.

This months requirements are to
use paper, flower & bling.

Now about the blog hop.....

I am your first stop along the hop so you are in the right place to start out.

As you hop along we would like you to follow all of our Design Team members blogs and
leave a comment on each of our blogs.
You also need to leave a comment on the
Treasured Times Rubber Stamping & Scrapbooking blog
 when you finish.

We will all be showing you a project we made using this months new stamp designed by Tracy Moreau,
called Sugar Skull....super cute!

My project...
I wanted to make a wall hanging.

I received a digi stamp this month.
I printed it out in two different sizes,
then got out my Spectrum Noir markers.

On the larger print I simply cut a rectangle and used my Deco Corner Chomper on the edges.

With the smaller print I chose to fussy cut the image and after coloring it I added some
rock candy Distress Crackle Paint.
I pop dotted that on top of a small doily.

In the photo below you can see my background was a piece of cardboard that I cut out and tore bit's off,
I added a some gesso then sprayed a few
ShimmerZ sprays
(Cotton Candy, Bell of Roses & Snow Storm)
and
then I smudged a bit of Weathered Wood distress ink all over.
I randomly stamped a floral swirl stamp,
from my stash,
and added a bunch of Hot Cocoa liquid pearls.

And when trying to decide how to hang it I decided to punch a bunch of holes all the way around and weaved some polka dot ribbon (from Walmart) through, leaving a loop at the top for hanging.

Also added some bling to my skull piece

Below you can see some flowers from my stash,
a piece of a diecut, I had left over from another project,
and the bow I made using a friends, super easy, technique & topped it with another bit of bling.

I love to use the stems of the flowers and give them a bit of a curl for added texture.

Below is a Tim Holtz idea-ology word band that I painted with some pink acrylic paint, rubbing off the excess to show off the wording more.
I also painted the nail head brads to match.

The image below is the bunch of goodies that Jody is offering to one lucky blog hopper.
The blog hop will run from July 31st to Aug 7th
then Jody will do a random draw from all the names of those of you who left comments and followed our blogs.
Good luck to all of you!

Along with this bunch of goodies that Jody is offering there are a few DT Members who are offering an extra giveaway on their blogs too
so don't miss anyone along the way

Next blog on the list is

Blog hop coming soon......

Hi everyone!

I am back from my trip back home to see my kids and grand kids!
What a great time we had!
It had been two years since seeing them all and I missed them like crazy!
Lots of hugs, kisses and fun with everyone...
trips to the lake, the park, stores, walking in the creek, a night at the drive-in,
playing cards (taught a couple of the granddaughters how to play rummy..my mom's favorite card game),
and
a beautiful wedding day with my son & daughter-in-law
and our families.

Time to make a new wedding album!
(I made one for them already...now I need one!)

A great vacation!
I was already missing them before I left!
Love my gang!
Won't see them again until next year..... I can't wait!

*****

Unfortunately I came home with a cold so getting back into the swing of things is slow going!

Right now I want to let you know that we,
over at
are going to have our very first blog hop soon!
Our start date is July 31st and will end August 7th at 11:59 pm PST.
I can't wait!
I hope you all will stop by and join in the fun!

We also have our monthly challenge for August posted so you can go over there now and check that out and get a head start on it.
You can hop over here to check it out.

Here is a look at the goodies you can win for that challenge.....

We have a great bunch of stamp designers at Treasured Times but fear not if you do not have one of our stamps,
you are more than welcome to use one of your own stamps to join in the fun!
I, as well as the rest of the DT,
will be using this new stamp designed by Tracy Moreau.....

How cool is this?
When Jody said she was sending us a skull stamp I was worried.....
skulls never were my favorite things.....
but this one is super cute and I had fun working with it!

(I'll be showing you my project soon)

Along with some stamping,
 for this months challenge,
 you must add
paper, flowers and bling!

The challenge runs from Aug 3 - Aug 31 at 11:59 pm PST

That is super cool!!!

I chose to make a layout.
I don't do layouts very often anymore so I decided this was a good time for me to get one done!

Since my dad left us due to a heart attack several years ago and my mother followed him about 4 yrs later due to heart disease, that she had had for a very long time, I decided my charity would be the

Heart Association.

Here is my layout I did of my parents.....

The Gecko Galz products used.....
Alter Me
Time Flies
 Wild about Flowers
 Between the Lines
and
Feb 2013 Spring by Heather Hudson for Gecko Galz

Oh la la
Butterfly Meadow
Wild Roses
Vanity Fair

From my stash.....
Honeycomb mask
Clear glitter glue
Glossy Accents
Martha Stewart edge punch
Tutti Frutti DazzelerZ from Shimmerz Paints

*****

I started with a piece of white cardstock, then layered a bunch of background papers.
I added the DazzelerZ with my mask in random spots to add a bit of shimmer to the page.
With the goal to use as many Gecko Galz products as I could I decided to punch some "lace" from a couple of my GG scraps.
I fussy cut the birds on the rose bush as well as the clock, fan, envelope and floral heart.
I flipped the birds on the rose bush, in gimp, so I could add them to the top of the page aimed in the opposite direction.
Pop dots for the flowers, birds, clock and Happy Memories sentiment.
Painted the heart with glossy accent.
I added the glitter glue to the roses, fan, floral heart and the flowers on the card in the envelope.

I love how this came out!

As I said, I haven't done many scrapbook pages for a while and I think part of that is because I got into adding flowers and bulky pieces to my work and that just makes it really hard to get them into a scrapbook.
Even though I added pop dots to this it's still flat enough to make it into a scrapbook without adding too much bulk!

Yay!

Of course now that I've done this one I have to get going & break out my many boxes of photo's,
search through some more Gecko Galz products,
get to some more fussy cutting.....

Pretty as a Peacock...

Good morning everyone!

Today I want to show you an ATC I put together for a Gecko Galz DT project this month.

When I saw this paper from the new By The Shore paper pkg and this gorgeous peacock from the Pretty as a Peacock collage sheet, I thought they went together so well, so I had to put them together.....

I added some mint green liquid pearls to the background paper.

Painted a metal corner piece with some white gesso then sanded some off to highlight the embossing on it.

Added some lettuce ultrafine transparent glitter,
from Art Glitter
around the edge of the peacock image.

The title is from the collage sheet.

I pop dotted the image with a piece of lace below.
