Altered frame

When I should have been heading to bed last night I got a little carried away altering my first frame.

I found this frame for 50 cents.

I am so pleased with how this came out.

I painted the frame a butter cream acrylic paint, then hit it with some vintage photo distress ink.

The images were found on Graphics Fairy and I edited them on Gimp.

I used a little fired brick distress ink on the cute little rose buds that I got from Flying Unicorn and also to the center rose.

The pearl sprays are from Pro 31 Design.

How'd I do with my flower spray?

I'm not sure I like the center rose so I may change that.

I'll be entering this in the
 L'Art A Transforme challenge
 at Bella Creations,
Roses in December challenge
at Flying Unicorn
and
Brag Monday at Graphics Fairy.

Thanks for visiting and leaving comments!

Ornaments

Today,
after fighting with my printer,
I made a few ornaments.

With the new puppy wildly running around, getting the other two dogs going and knocking down the tree, I have decided that my tree needs to be decorated with all unbreakable ornaments.

Here's a look at a couple I made today...

I used gold glitter glue on the stars...

shimmery glitter on the angel wings...

and white flocking on the clouds.

The angel image is from Graphics Fairy.
I'll be linking this to Brag Monday.

This one I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp and Show Stars.

This last one is a card holder ornament...

I am entering this one in the

Season's Greetings

First of all...

Steph, if hub's is near by don't let him see this post!!!
_____

I'll start with this card I made this morning.....

 It's an easel card...
I played with a bunch of stickles, in a clear, green & gold for the ornament.
I used some antique linen distress ink on everything...
the paper, doily, lace, tag and fingers!

A close up of the inside...
I used the platinum perfect pearls to mount the velum on top of the patterned paper.
I punched a small hole with my crop-a-dile and put the perfect pearls on the hole making sure it seeped down underneath.

I love this card and want to keep it for myself.....
but I won't!

I'll be entering this in the Bella Creations Cartes Classiques November challenge,

_______

This is the sketch pad that I made for my son-in-law.
He loves to draw and if I remember correctly he has a small book that he carries with him.
This one is bigger so he can keep it home and use it for larger sketches.

I used a piece of canvas for the cover that I painted with several different colors of acrylic paints, then I used my new Stampabilities-Faded Text Background stamp and my jalopy stamp from the
Tim Holtz collection.
My Prima Mask and some
Cashmere Texture Magic
for the bricks in the corner.
I used a clear decoupage to add the skeleton leaves and title, then over everything to seal it.

Hope he likes it.
Have a hard time looking for things to buy for him, never thought I'd come up with something to make for him!

I will be sharing both of these projects over at the Make it Monday blog.

New Siggy

I changed my blog siggy.

Sandi over at Maximum Embellishment posted a picture of Santa that I remember from back in the 60's, so I had to grab it and play.

I also used a couple of images,
the holly & Merry Christmas and the music notes background

Playing with new stamps

Here's a layout I put together last night.

The background on the white cardstock is all done with my new stamps.

The script,
from Stampabilities,
all over the background is a little hard to see because I used Milled Lavender distress ink which is pretty pale.

The stamps in Dusty Concord distress ink are
7 Gypsies - Avignon.

Busy weekend

Hi everyone!
Hope you all have had a nice weekend!

I have a couple of projects to share.

First is the placemat I made for my Thanksgiving day table.
I took a bunch of scraps and sewed them together to make this...

Close up of the stitching...

This is a layout I did  for the Bella Unique challenge also at
Bella Creations.
The challenge was to make your own flower and use it in a project.
I made the cream colored flower using the Tattered Floral die.

_______

Using 4 images I went into Gimp and made this card for the
Debet des Techniques Graphics Challenge at Bella.

_______

This card I made just because I felt like playing with this font!
LOL

I used a little glitter glue to add shimmer to the snow capped letters.

_______

There is a giveaway over at
Birgit will be celebrating a birthday soon and wants to share the fun!

So cute!

I know why they make puppies so cute!

Such a precious face, right?

How cute are they all laying there on the couch together?

And why they make them so cute?

This is what I woke up to this morning.....

Destroyed!

This is what it looked like last night...

See the candle "stick" part?

It's gone now!

Don't know where it is but I have an idea!

Now, I showed you a picture of the three of them together but the destruction was done by
Bear (the black) puppy,
all by himself!

He has taken it upon himself to destroy,
 little by little,
everything he can knock down and get his teeth on.

A little purse

In my attempt to give Christmas gifts this year that are all handmade by me I decided to make a purse for my grand daughters.
This is a picture of the first one I made.....

I could have gone out and bought a pattern but then I would have to do all that cutting and pinning and I just didn't feel like it so I winged it!

Isn't that kitty material cute?

Look at the stitching!
I love my new sewing machine!

Ok for those that may be wondering...
the scary looking guy with the big nose and braided yarn hair is a school project made,
by my somewhat goofy son,
years ago.
LOL
People laugh when they see it hanging and wonder
"why"
 but I love it!
It makes me smile!

The heart with the little pocket was another school project made by my younger daughter, a couple of years ago.

Maybe one day I'll show you my oldest daughters school project too.
That sits on my desk holding my scissors and stuff.
