Ornament...Card...

I was going to post another ornament but I though instead I would show you what happened with one of the ornaments I planned.

When I'm cutting my shapes,
with my Cameo,
to make my ornaments, I count to make sure I'll be able to have a front and a back.

Well.....
Apparently, one night, last week, I forgot how to count and ended up with an odd ball number of snowmen
so I decided to put him on a card.

The snowman is a Gecko Galz image.
I used some embossing gel pens on his hat, eyes, buttons, candy cane and poinsettia, which gave them a great shine as well as a bit of embossing.

The holly leaves I cut freehand and used a little file to sand the veins in the coordinations paper.
The shimmery ribbon was recently found at Walmart.

    Another Christmas ornament

As promised I am back to show you another ornament I've made.

I cut the ornament shape on my Cameo with Coredinations paper.
I sanded the paper a little bit and added the angel image that I also cut with my Cameo.
Then I added a bit of vintage photo distress ink along the edges,
some white opal liquid pearls for snowflakes all over,
then I brushed some silver pearl liquid pearls on the topper.

The wonderful angel is from the Vintage Angels Collage sheet over at Gecko Galz.
    Love this sheet!
    So many wonderful Angel images!

    Now back to my ornament...

The back  has the same sanding, vintage photo distress ink on the edges and silver pearl liquid pearls on the topper.
I added a strip of patterned paper from my scrap stash,
    an I am Roses poinsettia
    and
a Merry Christmas ticket that I got and cut from my Silhouette Cameo.

    Christmas ornament...

     Hi everyone!

Sorry there is always so much time in between my posts.
I have been busy with life these days but in between all the running, errands, etc...I managed to make a couple of ornaments for my Christmas tree.

    Here is one of them...

The background paper (Words and Music ATC paper pkg)
    and
the angel image (Vintage Angels collage sheet) are both from

The ornament shape and the angel image were cut with my Cameo.

I added mica flakes to the angels wings and it looks so much prettier in person than in the pictures!

    Isn't she a beauty!

I used platinum stickles on the topper,
brown/white bakers twine with a couple of beads from my stash.

     The back simply says JOY!
Those are stickers that have been in my stash forever!

Hopefully things will slow down a bit after Thanksgiving and I will be able to post more.
I have a few more ornaments to show you!

    Happy Thanksgiving
    to you all!

    Joy Banner

The plan today was to work on a couple of challenges,
    however...
    life happened.
So after a bit of running around and things finished that needed finishing I decided to play with my Cameo and made this wreath.

I used Tim Holtz Coordinations Papers and
Really Reasonable Ribbons Metallic Hemp Cord.

Maybe I'll get to those challenge plans tomorrow!

    12 tags of 2012 - November

This is my attempt at Tim Holtz tag this month...

I used peeled paint, broken china and weathered wood distress stain on the background.
I added rusty hinge, mustard seed, fired brick distress inks.

The flower, canvas scrap, mesh, and yarn are from my stash.
The leaves are from I am Roses.
The pearl drop piece is from Pro31 Design.

    Happy Birthday...

    Hi everyone!

I had the chance to play in my scrappy place today!

Actually I ignored all the cleaning I should have been doing and enjoyed myself instead!

    LOL

A couple months ago I found some Graphic 45 papers,
    A Proper Gentleman Collection,
at Tuesday Mornings and I bought too much!

After giving some away to a couple of people I still have enough to take care of masculine cards for quite a while now,
    so.......

Over at Sugar Creek Hollow, this week, the challenge is
    "For the Boys"
so I decided to make my husbands birthday card a little early
(he doesn't get older until next month).

I roughed up the edges with my Tim Holtz distresser and added some vintage photo distress ink.

Gave the lower image and the birthday wishes tag a lift with some pop dots.

The ribbon, button and twine are from my stash.

    Happy Thanksgiving

    Hi everyone!

Yesterday I spent the day in my scrappy place.

    Today,
after getting back to my running around that has become the norm here,
I want to show you a couple of the cards I made.
All three started with a blank card.

The images are from Gecko Galz Thanksgiving Day Collage sheet.

I love the menu on this one so I printed two sheets and fussy cut the menu off of one and pop dotted it on top of the other.

The background paper is Manor House from Gecko Galz Vanity Fair Paper collection.

The leaves are from my stash.
The brown/white twine is from my
    BOLB
    (best online bud)
    Heather.

I used the same image with these two but gave them a slightly different look.
The one above I used Provance background paper and the lower background is called Darcey,
both from the same Vanity Fair paper collection.

    I fussy cut the image.
On the above card I added a little bit of vintage photo distress ink on the edges of the background paper and the image then
pop dotted it with a leaf and twine behind it.

The lower one I wanted to be a bit more rustic so I roughed up the edges with my Tim Holtz distresser and added Vintage Photo distress ink on the edges.

The canvas fringe ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby.

Hope everyone has had a great day!

    Christmas card

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I want to show you a Christmas card I made.

I used 3 Gecko Galz papers from the Vanity Fair collection,
Picadilly, Vanity Fair & Country Lass.

The music sheet and the Noel images are also from Gecko Galz,
the Old Fashioned Christmas collage sheet.

I ruffed up the edges with my Tim Holtz distresser.
Added a piece of lace trim from my stash.
And the white poinsettia is from I am Roses.

    Christmas ornament

    Hi friends!
Sorry it has been so long since I've posted anything.
My daughter is in the school play so between that and errands I have to run for my husband so that I can have the car to pick her up after every nights practices,
not to mention the usual house cleaning duties,
I have no time on my hands for much of anything else.

Just took the towels out of the washer that I washed three days ago
    and then again last night,
now I am going to create!
I don't know what I am going to create but I am not leaving my scrappy place until I have a few things done!

Ok, that's all the time I have allotted for a rant, now on to a prettier subject...

    A few days ago,
    (I don't remember exactly when)
    I made this ornament...

I used Gecko Galz new Vanity Fair Papers
    out this month,
    for the background.
Added a little Fired Brick distress ink to all the edges.

I cut the shape of the ornament with my Cameo.

The images I used on front and back all came from October's
    Old Fashioned Christmas Collage sheet,
     also from Gecko Galz.

    On the front...

I pop dotted the little girl image.

The wheat spray is from Pro31 Designs,
I twirled the end tails of it for a little bit more sparkle on the bottom.

The little piece of trim across the center of the ornament is a piece of vintage trim I got,
in a jar full of vintage trim,
from the Antique Mall on a shopping trip I took with my daughter about a month ago.

And I added some platinum stickles to the top of the ornament, front and back.
Actually after taking the picture I added more so it really sparkles now!
    Should have taken a new pic...sorry :(

    On the back...

The train image was pop dotted.

The poinsettia is from I am roses,
The three pearl drops are from Pro31 Design,
    and
I added Bisque Liquid Pearls all around the outside edges.
