Couple of cards

Hi folks!

Looking over some scraps from a previous project sitting on my desk I decided to doodle on a couple pieces.
Well, one thing led to another and my doodle play ended up card making fun!

This is the card I made....

I haven't used my texture folders in ages so I did a bunch of them and had them laying on my desk with the flowers and such.

The card came together so quick and easy I decided to do it again,
only this time I did it on camera so there is a video link down below!

This is the card I did while on camera...

Now this card below was a
"hmmm, I'm not a watercolor girl but what if" challenge for myself.
My idea was to make a few pretty backgrounds that were nothing but color.

This card came out better than I had hoped for....

And this card....
well,
I decided to throw another card making bit to the end of the doodle card video!

Turned out to be a bit much for my camera....
battery died as I was going along!

I finished the card,
got the video together,
and added a couple photo's of this finished card to the end.

Thanks for visiting!

Calendar Journal album #3

Hi everyone!

You may have seen that I made a couple of  journals using

well....
I'm at it again!

I've made a 5 1/2 x 7 journal (you can see this one HERE)
then went really small and made a
2 1/8 x 3 1/4 journal (you can see this one HERE)

Now I went in between and made a
3 1/4 x 4 1/4 journal

Each one was done differently from the others,
which shows that you can take & make the kit as is,
or make it your own,
adding your creativity to Heather,s vision!

Here is my Calendar Journal #3

I made a belly band using the spare spine piece in the kit.
I don't always put flowers everything...it's been a while,
so I needed to add them and I figured the belly band was the best way for me since...

I love the cover papers and didn't want to cover them up!

The spine and back cover

A few shots of the pages...

Writing page below and one of the tags

There are two different background pages I just used the one below...

Below is a close up of the month tabs you can add to your calendar pages

This tab below I made using some more of the spine piece that I used for the belly band

Another writing page
Aren't those roses beautiful on these pages!

One of the tabs that comes in the kit

These are a couple shots of the tabs and how I lined them up

From above

Once again the finished piece!

Below I posted pictures of the full kit!

I've also posted the video I did for this journal with a little more info, below!

*****

The pages were shrunk down for posting purposes.
As I said above each sheet (12 altogether) prints nicely on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

And if you are like me, wanting front & back writing pages,
these beauties printed wonderfully lined up with each other!

As you can see below there are pages for writing & for backgrounds, covers, spines,

calendar pages, month labels & number boxes for the dates,
tags, library envelopes, atc cards, card & tag toppers

There are larger tags & smaller tags

And how about those roses, the colors, the distressing.....
super pretty!

So much goodness in one kit!

ATC

Good morning!

I joined a Facebook group

Marta has a couple challenges she does.
This one is a weekly ATC (artist trading cards) challenge.
Every week she lets us know what word we are to work with.

This weeks letter is G and our word is Gears

I don't usually use gears in my projects...
I have them....
don't use them!

Here is my atc....

It's really simple but I like it!

I started with an old insurance card,
sanded it, then used a sponge to dab gesso then paint on.
I loved the texture it gave me so I added some Inka Gold over top to highlight it more.

After putting it all together with the gears,
I mounted it on an atc sized card.
Easy Peasy!

Birthday Card

Hi crafty gang!

I'm not a watercolor girl but I have some,
so I decided to play with them.

Something simple

Splashy backgrounds

Not a surprise to me that some didn't look all that great but I loved this one so I had to put it on a card!

I even broke out an old embossing folder!
Haven't used any of them in ages!

A couple close ups of my watercolor play

I cut the side of the card to slip the ribbon in and around the inside of the card for something different.
The ribbon I used is from Really Reasonable Ribbon
I believe it is this ribbon HERE.....it came in a club assortment a while back...
actually, I won it!
(grinning big)

Another shot of the finished card.....

art journal play

Hi friends!

Lately, when I play in my art journal I do more background play then anything else.
I have enough backgrounds!
But.....
once again,
I started off trying a different background.
I kinda failed!
It was a mess!

Too many colors on the verge of mud!

I stopped and grabbed my scrapey/texture tool and swirled all over it and found some decent color coming forward so I flipped through my stencils,
butterflies, birds, hearts,
to see what would work to turn this mess into something.

And this is what happened.....

I used heart stencil masks that I cut.

Gotta love it when a plan goes wrong.....

and the project turns out way better!

Birthday card

Hi crafty pals!

For this card I started with some scrap papers
and added my new Deco Sheets from Tim Holtz.

These sheets are a little tricky to die cut because of the stickiness.
I ended up wasting half a sheet but kept trying.

***Note to self...do not try to die cut anything intricate with these sheets!***

The enjoy piece was a stamp & emboss testing I did a few days ago that worked perfectly with this card.

I also embossed the scalloped circle die cut.

The flower addition was something I haven't really done in ages! I had fun with those...love the look!

I got a bunch of dies for Christmas so I've been having fun working with them...
I used a few on this card!

The dies I used...

Spellbinders dies....GLD-007 - Petite Pendants
 S2-014 - Medallion One

Sizzix Framelits Die Sets.... 657564 - Scalloped Ovals
657552 - Scalloped Circles
657569 - Tickets

Tea for me....

Hi lovelies!

I joined Inspiration Wednesday with Donna Downey again this year.

I don't know if I'll post every spread but I'm pretty pleased with this one so I had to share.

When I first saw the video I though
"Ooo, a coffee mug, I think I can manage painting that"

So I finally got the chance to do this, this morning,
and the thought...
"oh, this may not be as easy as I thought"
(always second guessing myself)
came in!

I trudged on and I'm so glad I did!

It may be nothing fancy but it's not supposed to be and I'm loving it!

Here it is.....

I used a couple of Donna's colors but changed it up a little for me.

I love that I managed to get the shadow looking pretty good and the light in there as well!

Ok, I might be pretty proud of myself for this one!
It's so cute!

I'm thinking about adding a quote or something to the opposite page.

Below is a closer look at the tea cup.

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you're having a great week!

Valentine's Day card #3

Good morning!

With this card I decided to make a little pocket,
using one of the little tags that I cut and folded
so I could add my tickets in there.

I used my bow-it-all & twine for my bow.

I die cut a little doily piece
(Spellbinders Die D-lites Medalion Four S2-021)
and tucked half of it in under the tag.

I love the red background on this one!
Simple and sweet!

Valentines Day card #2

Good morning!

All four of these Valentine cards were made using mostly the same digi products and I'll link them below

The doily piece I die cut with
Spellbinders Die D-lites Medalion Four S2-021

Here you can see that the one tag is removable.

This photo was an attempt at showing you the shimmer of the Wink of Stella but I guess that didn't work out too well
