One long crazy challenge...

BOO!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO YOU ALL!

This month Alda, over at Flying Unicorn challenged us with a month long challenge.
We could make a layout or a tag.
Everyday she, or someone on her team, gave us instructions.
We were to do nothing but what they asked us to do!

I don't know what I was thinking but I chose to do a tag!

It got a bit tricky and I have to admit I did give up a couple of times but I kept going back and I did finish.

Here is my tag...

Here are a couple of close ups...

It was a bit crazy not knowing what was coming next, like that black circle...
I thought for sure someone would tell us to put something on it so I left it open and they didn't!

When Frank said to put a 2x2 tile on there with a hole in the middle...

first I worried...2x2 is so big for my tag with limited space at this point and a hole in the middle, oh my!

But, since it was toward the end of the month, I thought the same punch I used for the black circle was a perfect hole to add at this point.
I could tuck it under the image and over the black circle!

Frank also asked us to use 2 diecuts together using popdots.
I have a limited supply of diecuts but I did find the little tag and dragonfly that worked well together.
I had fingers crossed that someone would say we had to add some ribbon or lace that I could add to it and woohoo, Helene came through with gauze!

There's my green ink with a little bling added (numbers 6 &7).
My 3 squares..brads.
My button is the little cream flower.

Toward the end when we were told to add a brad anywhere,
I didn't know where I was going to add a brad,
it already looked like it had enough little bits,
until, luckily, I found the leaf brad.

The folded doily, tucked under the flowers gave me a place to put the bling needed "near the flowers."

As you can see I'm not listing all of the instructions, that would take a month!
LOL

Pop on over to Flying Unicorn and check out all the wonderful creations everyone ended up with!

My tag is now hanging in my scrap room.

Have a great,
SAFE,
Trick or Treating night!

Acorns!

Look at the cute little acorns that fell from our trees...

Ok, they didn't fall from my trees.

The caps did!

LOL

Between the critters and my dogs the nuts are gone but there are tons of the caps out there so after seeing a tutorial, over at
Kim's - Everything Etsy blog,
I ran outside and grabbed a bunch.

They are a great sit on your butt in front of the tv project!

So easy, fun and cute!

I am thinking I need to grab some more caps today and make some more!

They will look great thrown around my window sill with my pumpkins and other fall decor.

Stay warm!
Have a great weekend!

Digi fun!

Hi everyone!
Hope you all have warm wonderful weekend plans!

Today was, for the most part, a lazy day.
I did manage to finish off a couple of projects I had started but I also spent a good part of the day catching up on some tv viewing that I have missed.

Oh, during one of those shows I did get up, grab my weights and did some exercising!
Proud of myself for that one!
(smiley face)
Just wish I was proud of myself for doing that more often!
(sad face)
Never gonna loose the extra pounds if I don't hop to it more often.

Wouldn't it be so much easier if we could just unzip and all the extra weight just fell out!
Just open that zipper on the thighs and drop.
Maybe a little off the tummy...zip!
Or even better if we could just go outside in the sun for a little bit and the fat just melts and we could just pour it out.
LOL

Ok, back to reality!

Tonight I wanted to get something done so I checked my challenges over at
and decided to do Heather's challenge over in the
Heather put together a few video tutorials on her blog for us to use with this challenge.

Actually, my dear friend, Heather has several video's on her blog teaching us all kinds of digi techniques!
She uses GIMP for all her digi tutorials.
GIMP is a free digital imaging software you can download from here.
You should really hop over to visit Heather and check them out!
It is so much fun altering images!
Then come over to Bella Creations and join in on the fun challenges with us!

For this challenge we had to...

1. Create a favicon for our blogs.

You should see mine up above.

I used this image...

Here is the little one...

I added my initials in a brown color and gave it a little bit of a brownish frame.

2. Create a watermark for our images.

I did that on my original image above.

3. Add a post script to your blog using an image we created.

You can see my Halloweenie post script below.
Both the striped background and the pumpkin witch holding candles are images I got over at
If you haven't been to Gecko Galz yet you should get over there and see all the great collage sets she has to offer

4. Create a post showing all of our work.
and
5. Head back to Bella and leave a link to our post.

I will get to that next.

Hugs!

Happy Tuesday

It took a while today but I finally got to sit down and have my cup of tea.
A bit of running around with my husband, this morning, started pretty early for us.

Time to relax now before hitting the housework.
So a cup or two of English Breakfast and a lemon biscotti will do me fine this afternoon.

The cup today is from a set my mom handed down.
To my brother.
The set mom left to me got lost during a divorce move and I am not really happy that no one knows what happened to it, but we won't go into that.

My brother moved down to Florida last year and in an attempt to move light he left me this set of dishes as well as Mom and Dad's old dining set.
Yay!

Halloweenie

Today I was in a Halloweenie mood so I wanted to share the things I made.

I made this pumpkins after seeing the ones
Carla showed us over at Bella Creations
Here is the link to the tutorial that she left for us...
http://keepnthesunnyside.blogspot.com/2010/08/cutesy-stacked-fabric...

.

This one has the little candy corn sachet I made for Starr's group
L'art avec tissu at Bella.
We were to make a sachet but since my allergies don't let me play with too many perfumie type things I wasn't going to do this one.
However,
while making some Halloweenie piece today
and
 eating some candy corn
I thought this would be a cute alternative...

Another Bella Creations challenge in Sandi's
we were asked to make some
 Halloween Crackers.
I thought this was a cute idea to send some candy to my grandkids in these for Halloween instead of just sending a bag candy.
I think they will enjoy receiving these.
If my daughter doesn't eat all the candy corn,
with my help of course,
I might send some of the sachets too.

Thanks for stopping by!

To busy to post catch-up

I have been real busy these day's.
Lot's of running around here and there.
I just wanted to come in here and post a few pic's of what I have had the chance to do this past week.

First...

a tag I did for the Bella Celebrer La Fete
Fall tag challenge(Your take on Tim).
Using this link I made my fall rendition of Tim's tag.

Second...

another Bella challenge as well as a Flying Unicorn one.
using orange, black and purple
and
Flying Unicorns
Mind Your Mummy challenge,
using a mummy or mother theme and must use gauze.
I made an ATC.

and Third...

Starr over at
asked us to make some cards for the troops.
Who could say no to that?
Not me!
We could use three for the challenge and
the other three are just because I wanted to!
If I get the chance I want make more.
Starr has a link posted for the guidelines.
If you want to join us in sending some cards to the troops, hop on over there and take a look at what you have to do!
I am also entering the three purple cards in the
Purple People Eater Challenge at Flying Unicorn.

And last..

I went shopping with my daughter the other day.
We don't usually get the chance to go out and treat ourselves so we had a great time.
This is one of the treats I came home with...

My new teacup!
I love it!
I know it's a little early with the snowflakes but isn't it cute!
And since I have been using it all day I can tell you it keeps my cuppa tea nice and warm for me!

Tea Time

Teatime is by its very nature a combination of small luxuries arrange in social symmetry. And although tea for one is certainly a fine thing, the addition of a circle of dear friends to share it with ensures the whole is larger than its parts.
 Author Unknown

Today I thought I'd share a cup of tea with you all.

Some of you may know that I recently went from bagged tea to loose leaf.
I have yet to look back!
The flavor is so much better than I expected and the act of making tea, now, is so much more fun that popping a teabag in a cup.

I am drinking my tea today out of this beautiful cup I bought last week.

What a perfect cup to share as fall is getting underway, don't you think?
It's called Autumn Glory.
I love the fall colors in the flowers
and the gold all around the edges!

Here is a close up of the flowers and gold on the saucer...

And look at the cute flower inside the cup...

 I love it!

 It says
By Appointment To Her Majesty The Queen.
I feel so regal drinking from this!

I loved the way it was displayed in the store so I went ahead and bought the rack it was on too!

And here is it's perch when it is not in use...

Proudly sitting on the mantle shelf my son made for me and right next to the "tea tag" that Shawn sent me.

Thanks for stopping by for a cup of tea with me.

This will be my first time sharing a post with
I have enjoyed reading these blogs and seeing the teacups everyone shares but I hadn't gotten around to share until today.
Having this beautiful cup to share helped! lol

Have a great Tuesday everyone!
