Christmas gifts

Morning friends!

Today's quick share are the gifts I made for my granddaughters this year for Christmas.

They love it when Grammy makes things for them.

They all got a similar canvas.
They were very happy to see them and couldn't wait to get them on their walls!

Thanks for the visit!

Pretty purple card...

Hi everyone!

I was digging through my stash of Gecko Galz papers
and when I found these pretty purple flowers
I had to make a card

I fussy cut a couple of flowers,
used one for the front of the card and a smaller one on the inside.

Below you can see a bit of shine from the background paper that I used,
of course it looks better in person.

I'm linking up at

Have a great week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage tv.....

Good morning!

I'm showing off a Christmas gift I altered for my daughter this year.

You can see a bit of shine on the picture below,
I used teal, black and silver paints on it.
I love the shimmer of the silver.

I added pearls around the outside

The colors in the photo below are more true than the others.

Thanks for visiting!
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Mission Inspiration January Challenge

Good morning!

I've joined a challenge group on Facebook called

You are given a list of things (10 things) to do in your art journal.

Easy as pie!

Great for those lack of mojo days...
what to do is all laid out for you!

So to start with.....

I didn't use my art journal!

What?!

Nope!

I don't know what it was about this challenge but I liked it so much I decided to do a canvas board instead!

I think it was the fact that I actually had a plan!
So not like me!!!

Half way through though,
my thought was...
"Ugh, why didn't I do this in my art journal...this is terrible!"

Oh well...
keep going it has to get better!

Yes!
Success!

Here it is.....

When I got to the part where we were suppose to chose
"3 colors of your choice"
I chose badly!

Hot mess!

All my attempts to salvage failed so gesso to the rescue!

Covered the lilacish color I ended up with
with a burnt sienna.
That made me happy.
Then I added a bit of coral and that made me happier!

Whew!!!

Here's a close up of my collaged bits and phrase.....

Below is my piece all framed up & pretty.....

The challenge.....

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you are staying warm!

Good luck to the east coast gang with this storm coming your way!
Stay safe!

I'm a winner!

WooHoo!
I'm so excited!

I entered a giveaway a little while ago,
knowing I'd never win,
and
I was soooooo wrong!

I won!

And it's here!!!
Just got it today!!!

I got the email last weekend telling me that I won and I was so excited I had to sit down and catch my breath!
It's so rare that I win anything and this, for me, is huge!

Along with the Instant Pot came her new book,
A Simple Guide to the Paleo AutoImmune Protical by Eileen Laird.
from Phoenix Helix
and that lovely card!

Funny thing is I just ordered the book the day before I saw her giveaway!
Guess it was meant to be!

You can find her book HERE.

My extra book will be gifted!

Doesn't it look great on my counter!

Oh yay
I can't wait to play!

Joy

Last year my daughter pointed out that a lot of my Christmas decor have the word Joy on them.
I like the word Joy but I hadn't done that consciously,
I just rarely find things that say Noel
(my daughters fav Christmas word)
 that I like.
So I went on the hunt to find her some Noel pieces and again...nothing.
I will have to make her something, but until then, back to me & Joy...

Last month I saw one of those Facebook test thingys that said it will find your word for you for 2016 so what the heck I tried it.....

Yup...

JOY

That's my word!
LOL

So I got out some paints and made this for my wall.....

Now I'll have Joy everyday of the year and not just Christmas!

Thanks for stopping in to visit!
Have a great week!

Ring in 2016 Coast to Coast with CeeCee & Heather

Over the course of the years I have come to
celebrate New Years
 in my jammies,
 tucked nicely in bed,
with my eyes closed.

But not this year......

This year I joined the KraaftShaak to celebrate every time zone from coast to coast!
Crazy fun!

During the celebration we had a challenge we could join in on.

The first one included...
a magenta, teal & gold
Black and white were a given.
The some sort of sparkle...
I chose my Inka Gold that I had just bought for the first time...yay!

Now after that challenge they brought a couple people in to the group and played pictionary.
That was a crazy fun game to watch and play along with,
however since I thought,
the other day,
that I was done working in my art journals because I found no inspiration in them,
didn't even want to open them
and
since they got me to enjoy doing the first one I thought I'd go ahead during the pictionary and do another.
Quite a few did city scapes including CeeCee & Heather
so I thought why not give that ago,
another first for me!
Might not be the best city scape around but it's mine and I had fun doing it!

When pictionary was done we were on to another art journal challenge.
To be honest I did not get the whole parameters for this one...
they kinda came at us here and there but I know I caught a few.
I got the yellow, magenta, blue, stencils, stamp and the glitter!
Oh and a quote!
Not really sure if I like the quote I may have to do something to it to bring it out more!

***edit***

Here I've changed up the quote so it can be seen better...

*****

All in all it was a great night!
Well worth staying up past my bed time!
Thank you CeeCee and Heather for that fun crazy party!

Hugs!
Hoping the Happiest, Healthiest, Love filled New Years to you all!
