Paint and Doodle cards

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share a bit of fun I've been having with paints and doodling.

I was slapping some paints in my art journal and thought it looked pretty 

so I thought what if I do that on some card stock and simply doodle 

so that's what I did!

And bonus.....

Doodling is an easy craft to play with in front of the tv,

 if you have a few pieces of card stock painted and ready to go!

Here are a couple cards that I did from two different painted backgrounds...

I added a couple circles,

 I cut from paper I painted with my gelli plate,

to the center of the larger circles on the pink cards!

So simple and so much fun!

March Mission Inspiration

Good morning! 

Time for another Mission Inspiration!

These are interesting.....

I don't usually use advertisements from magazines & newsprint so that alone is a challenge

and it's kinda fun having someone giving you prompts/a direction to go.

  

The focal image was cut for another Mission but it ended up not fitting and I'm glad because it was perfect for this one.

Lucky Stars

Good afternoon everyone! 

Every Sunday I make my breakfast,

grab my cup of tea 

then sit down in front of my computer and watch

Shawn Petite's Inspiration Sunday videos 

where she shows us the process of the piece she is working on.
She also has such wonderful words of wisdom to share with us.....
always giving of herself!

Last week she decided,

very generously,

to share her piece with us all! 

So I got my print and decided that it was going to be simply mounted on a piece of mdf and put on my office wall.

However.......

I printed it out and life happened,

 so it took a few days before I could get back to it for mounting.

Only now I want to play with it! 

A collaboration if you will!

I'm feeling giddy! 

So here is the original done by Shawn.....

Isn't it pretty?

Below is what I did to it...

I put it on a taller board

and added more color to the background with paints and stencils to match what she already had.

Added a few pieces of ephemera and a butterfly.

A few more stars

and 

I may have gone a little bit overboard with the paint spatters!

This was a lesson in

"Do not play with paint when you should be in bed because you are totally exhausted!'

Sigh...

Below is a closer look at the quote...

I added white shadowing to the letters.

I also added a few more stars and another layer of ribbon/lace trim.

Little Friendship Canvas

Hey everyone!

This is a canvas I made for a friends birthday gift! 

She didn't seem to mind that I sent it a month.....

or so......

after her birthday!

This card was done with some Gelli Plate paper playing 

and a bunch of stamps I carved.....

I doodled some stitch lines around the edges,

added lace and 

a die cut that I added liquid pearls to.
