Hi everyone. Hope everyone survived the holiday snow storm! We got lucky and didn't get too much snow, but the wind has been howling something fierce today. Branches are busting off the tops of the trees and hitting the roof of the house. Thanking God that it is only the branches and not the trees! I also hope that Santa was good to everyone!

I have been sitting home feeling a bit blue which always happens this time of year. Been like this for a few years now. I don't know if it's the seasonal/winter depression or if it's Christmas itself. I do tend to feel bad that I can't afford to get everything I would like to get for all the kids. Of course it doesn't help that I have a teenager who, as much as she loved her gifts, was disappointed that she didn't get more.

Anyway, in my down state I have been sitting here making flowers. I started last week and have continued the last couple of days. I am pleased with what I have done for two reasons: 1. I like the looks of these flowers, can't wait to put them on a page or in a mini album & 2. I am using up some scraps that I've had saved for ages and probably wouldn't have used for anything else. I have made these flower using a punch from The Paper Studio-1 3/8" flower, which made the smaller flowers in the tin & a couple of the centers for the larger flowers and the larger flowers were made using the Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Florals BIGZ Die from Sizzix, which I used with my Cuttlebug. I am simply doing what I call the punch & scrunch! Once I've punched the flowers out I spritz them with a water base spray, then scrunch them up into a little ball. Carefully open up the ball leaving some of the wrinkles in, then hit them with a heat gun to dry them. Be careful when using the thinner pp's because I tend to lose a petal when using them. If you do that you can rearrange the petals while the flower is still wet, so the petals have uniform spacing then dry them. Once dry place as many as you want together with a brad or whatever you chose. Have fun!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Three days to go! Woohoo!
It is going to be a fairly quiet Christmas here. We have already exchanged gifts with my daughter and granddaughters. My son will be here Christmas day, with or without his son. Not sure about that yet. Hoping he'll have him, haven't seen my son or grandson in months! Other than that it's just me, my husband and my youngest daughter. Haven't bought much of anything this year because of the job situation being up in the air and money is tight. Made gifts this year. Here's hoping the new year will be a better one!
Sorry, didn't intend to make this a downer. I hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and an Extremely Happy & Healthy New Year!!!!!

Oh, Christmas tree!

Here is my Christmas tree with my Tim Holtz inspired tags on it.

My first mini!

Woohoo! I finished it! It came out better than I thought it would for my first. It was a challenge though since I really didn't know what I was doing. Had to keep going over things because I would forget a step and have to redo. Not a good thing when one of those things you forgot to do was the inking the edges and it's all glued and some pages already have embellishments on them. Yikes! Actually, I shouldn't say I forgot a step because I really didn't know the steps, this was a learning project. I was learning as I went. Even with all the mistakes I made, and fixed, I really enjoyed this. I think a friend was right when she said I may be hooked, I am already thinking of new ones to make.

And speaking of friends, I have to give a shout out to all the wonderful ladies I have met at PIT (Pages in Time). These ladies are wonderful. They have creatively inspired me to do things I had never done before, things I hadn't even thought of to do and things I was a bit nervous to do. Create on ladies & Thank you!

Thank you for looking! Until next time...

Here we go!

Well here goes! My first scrappy blog. Not exactly sure I know how to do all of this yet so you'll have to bear with me. .......... I got into scrapping after watching the scrapbooking show with Sandi Genovese, on DIY network years ago and I've been loving it ever since. I am addicted to the wonderful papers and little goodies there are out there that enable me to make my little treasures. I have shared my scrapping fever with my daughter, so she is now scrapping her daughters. I have also hooked a couple of others as well and, in keeping with this tradition, my daughter has done the same with her friends. And...since scrapping was so much fun why not try card making? I have been told that I should sell them but I have yet to look into doing that. So far I have only made cards that I intended to personally give someone. I never really got into making tags because I could never figure out how to make what I made fit into a page I was doing, so I gave up, but, I just recently joined a challenge, on Pages In Time, to recreate the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of  Christmas (a few, I did, posted here now) and now I may be hooked. The tags came out great and they are now hanging on my x-mas tree. ........... Hopefully I will get the hang of this and will post more soon! Have a great week everyone!
