Ho ho ho...

July is almost gone so I am pushing to get my Christmas in July card making done.

I spent some time coloring a few digi stamps from Sassy Cheryl's
and put them on a card this morning.

This one I will be entering into Sugar Creek Hollow's

I colored all three Sassy Cheryl stamps with my Spectrum Noir markers.

The holly stamps in the corners are a stamp I carved this morning.

Here is a close up of my stamp and the inside below...

Here is a close up of the digi stamp...

I added a little bit of glitter glue to Santa's coat and hat trim.

I also added some glitter glue for the holly berries.

Here is another card...

The background was simply dotted with a green & red marker
and some glitter glue.

I also glitter glued the ornament that Santa is holding, the Christmas tree trim,
and the edge of the pop dotted piece.

I sprayed the card with pink taffy glimmer mist and I love how it matched so well with the coloring I did.

Merry Christmas in July everyone!

Cards & a Beautiful day

I woke up yesterday and decided that I was going to plant myself in my craft room and create all day.

Then I let the dogs out!

It was so beautiful!

Sun was shining & the temperature was just right with a great breeze blowing through!

So I got out the lounge chair, my kindle and a bottle of water and sat outside with the dogs for a while!

I did however manage to get into my room and make a couple of cards!

This one I will be entering in the Gecko Galz Summer Card challenge...

I distressed all the edges and added some vintage photo distress ink.

The little beauty is from Gecko Galz Mondays Child collage set.

The bling mesh is from Pro31 Design

Hip rose buds are from Wild Orchid Crafts
and
the sea shells are from my stash.

*****

This one I will enter into the Gecko Galz Summer Garden Challenge

I used my paint dauber in pearl along the edges of the card.

This beauty is also from Gecko Galz Monday's Child collection
and the sunflower Monet is also from Gecko Galz.

Isn't she cute!

I added a little Recollections rose to her hat and some bling from my stash.

***

I hope you all have a chance to enjoy some beautiful days like I did yesterday!

Today is a bit dreary so after some cleaning I will be in my craft room.

Altered notebook

Every time I see a challenge that I would like to enter I write myself a note so I don't forget.

However, there are so many, sometimes, that they get pushed aside to make room for the new ones.

Amazingly enough an unorganized pile of notes on my desk does not seem to help me much!

LOL

I needed somewhere to write down my lists...
challenges I want to enter...
dates and details...
challenges I actually did enter...

All in one place would be nice!

So...

I altered this notebook in hopes that will help eliminate the confusion
and
the mess!

I love this paper from the Prima Romantique collection!

The hip rose buds are from Wild Orchids Crafts
I tied them in a little bouquet with a scrap piece of seam binding.

That beautiful rosy ruffled trim is from
and
the flat back daisy trim is from Pro31 Designs

I used my Cameo to cut out the word "Create" with grunge board
then painted it with tattered rose distress crackle paint.

When it dried I added vintage photo distress ink that I then wiped off leaving what was left in the cracks.
I love when the crackle paint falls off when I am adding the inks and it leaves the shabby/vintage worn paint look
 (the bottom of the "r")

I topped it all with glossy accents.

Wish me luck that this works
and
that I no longer have little sticky notes all over the place!

Happy weekend to you all!

In the pink

I don't know
I think pink is getting to me!

Yesterday it took me all day to do a Christmas card
A holiday card I usually have no problem making!

Today I decided to do the Shabby Tea Room Challenge
Oh-So pretty in Pink
and it only took a couple of hours

And again,
 I have to say,
I am not a pink kinda girl but I love it!

I chose to do an easel card today.

Here it is...

and the inspiration image...

Not just pretty but yummy looking too!

***

I distressed the edges of all my images and the ooh la la tag with my Tim Holtz distresser.

The polka dot background is from my scrap stash.

The striped piece is from Gecko Galz Versailles paper pack.
Also from Gecko Galz are the 4 center images,
all of them are from the Viva la France collage set.

***
If you haven't been to Gecko Galz lately, you must go!
There are so many images collage sheets, paper packs, stamps and MORE to chose from so
pop on over and take a peek!

***

I added the fan to my ooh la la tag for the inside of the card then cut it with my Cameo.
I stamped the ooh la la with a stamp I found a couple of years ago,
it was in the $1 bin at either Michaels or AC Moore.

And speaking of Michaels, the two open roses are from Recollections at Michaels.

The rose buds (hip buds) are from Wild Orchids Crafts.

*** edit***
I used my spun sugar distress marker on the edges of all the flowers then sprayed them with dazzling diamonds glimmer mist.
***

The leaves are from I am roses.

The pink bling mesh is from Pro31 Design.

Here is a close up of the center of the card...

All four of the Gecko Galz Viva la France images here are tinted pink...
not by choice.
My printer is running out of ink and tinted them for me.
Couldn't be any more perfect for a pink challenge don't you think?
LOL

It's Christmas in July...

over at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge blog.

When I found out that the challenge this week was Christmas I had to make a card!

Anything that gets me started so I am not doing the last minute rush is a good thing!

So here is the card I made...

My scrappy mojo seems to come and go these days and yesterday it went out!

It just about took me all day to do this card!

I chose the background and I had the digi stamp that I got from
Whoopsi Daisy
(it was a freebie)
that I colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I have to say that adding the polka dots after I was all done coloring in the image was one of my favorite parts.
I used the blender pen to dot the skirt, sleeves, collar and bow's, then went over them with a pale green.

After that...

I stalled!

Nothing I did seemed to come together for me!

So.....

I decided to take another approach.

I went smaller and made a tag!

I used my pearl dabber on a couple of snowflake stamps for the background of the card.
Added barn door and peeled paint distress inks on top and a little bit of vintage photo distress ink on the edges.

Mounted my little cutie image on a piece of scrap green cardstock,
a couple of pop dots,
a couple of circle pearl sprays, that kinda look like wings, on her back
and
my tag was done!

Then I was back to "what do I do now"!

An idea...

The light bulb went on and it was shining on the vellum sheets that I bought years ago and never touched,
I made a slide pocket for the front of the card and slid the tag in!

I added a couple of square blingy pieces, from my stash, around the vellum
and I was done!

One card, to wish a Merry Christmas
and
one tag for the recipient to hang on their tree!

Here is a peek at the inside of the card...

Oops...

I made this card to enter into a challenge but in the end I didn't add all the elements needed and don't have the heart to do any more because I think it's cute enough the way it is.

So here is my cute little card...

Isn't she adorable?

She is a digi stamp I got from Saturated Canary.
Her name is Pricilla Pie.

I colored her with my new set of Spectrum Noir markers.
I really like how they worked out.
They are my first alcohol markers so I had a lot of fun with them.

I fussy cut her and pop dotted her on the card.

I also broke out my Cuttlebug and embossing folders for the background, then sanded it to make it pop.

The background papers I used are from my scrap pile.

The ribbon is a trim I found at Walmart last week.

Here is a close up of  little Miss Pricilla Pie

What is it?

Hub's found this while cleaning out the storage room at work...

Neither one of us has ever seen anything like it before so I thought I would post it and see if any of you ever played this game or know what it is.

Pink banner card

I put this card together yesterday for the Gecko Galz

The banners are from the B is for Banners collection at Gecko Galz.

I used some burgundy stickles on the edges of all the banners.

The pink buttons are from my stash and I topped them with an Irock gem.

Stamped the Hello on a pale blue piece of cardstock scrap and
did a little hand stitching.

Week 6 Summer of Color

Sad to see it go but it is the last week of the Summer of Color over at

This is the card I made...

The back ground paper is from July's, Great Adventures, ATC paper collection at
I added some more red to it with Fired Brick distress ink and edged it with some walnut distress ink as well.
The little girl image is matted on chocolate brown cardstock.

*****
So much for doing a quick post and run...

I forgot to mention that this little darling was also from Gecko Galz.
She is from July's Monday's Child collection.
Love this little cutie!

Hope I didn't forget anything else!

*****

The ribbon is from my stash.
I embellished it with a couple of Irock gems
and
some flat back pearls from Pro31 Design.

The inside background paper is a gcd's Ella Bue piece I had in my scrap's box.

The shell stamp on my cardstock piece are K&Company stamps.

Here is our inspiration photo...

YUM!
Watermelon Ice
I could go for some of that, it's getting hot and humid here again!

Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Summer of Color

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I want to show you the piece I made for
Twinkle Twinkles Summer of Color challenge.

Here's the color inspiration...

Does that look yummy or what?

In the close up below you can see that I heat embossed over stamped swirls.

The Gecko Galz image I used is from a freebie I got last September just for being signed up for the Gecko Galz newsletter!

Sign up for Gecko Galz newsletter and you too can receive freebies every month!
Just scroll down and look for the beauty in the sidebar, she'll show you were to enter your email address!

This beauty had feathers in her hat so I decided to make them pop off the page with some real ones!
Then added the gems, from my stash, because I thought she deserved some bling!

The butterfly was just a plain white die cut I had sitting on my desk,
leftover from another project ages ago.

I tapped it with broken china, peeled paint and dusty concord distress inks, glittered the edges with my favorite platinum stickles and added the pearls, from my stash, for his body.

Here is a closer look at the butterfly.
I love the look of the tapped ink,
it gives it a bit of a textured look.

I also used the dusty concord, broken china and peeled paint distress inks on the distressed edges of all my pieces.

And while I was at it with all those inks I took my lace and dabbed that too!

The pearls on the beauties hat were green (except for the little one).
The rest of the gems were clear,
I hit them with citrus alcohol ink to make them green.

Playing with pink again...

I love the pink card I made yesterday
so I wanted to keep playing with pink,
not my normal color choice.
I use pink,
 but usually downplayed.

Anyway...

I made this tag

I love this quote.
I rubbed this with Pearl paint dauber then rubbed it off to highlight the words.

This lace once was a doily.
I found it at a thrift shop not long ago.
It was a little ragged but I bought it for cutting.

The green wheat spray is from Pro31

Curly two tone flower is from I am roses
I sprayed it with biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist for shimmer.

The rose buds are from Wild Orchids
I  touched the tips of the petals with a spun sugar distress marker then sprayed it with biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist.

The papers were all bits from my scrap stash,
always love to dig in and use some of that!
