Floral canvas.....

Hi everyone!

I want to share a canvas that I painted recently.
I found this YouTube Floral Landscape video tutorial for beginners, by Angela Anderson
and I loved the colors and the ease so I had to try it!
You can find the video HERE

And my canvas.....

I wish I could get a photo without the glare but this is the best one of the lot that I took!

In the video I believe she used an 8x10 canvas,
I wanted something bigger because I wanted to hang it on my kitchen wall so I used a 14x18 canvas.

I have to say doing this painting was sooooo much fun
and
it looks wonderful on my orange/rusty kitchen wall!

It makes me smile every time I walk in there and see it!

Hope you all are enjoying some great weather
and some crafty inspiration!

Lovely Lady Gecko Galz DT project...

Good morning everyone!

My DT project for Gecko Galz is another simple card.
I'm not sure if it's because of the cold I had for far too long or what
but I seem to be in a simple mode with my cards lately.

Here is my card.....

I cut the template for the card then added the background paper to the center and some shimmery black cardstock to the end pieces.

I added the corrugated paper that was inked with dusty attic ink by Ingval Bolme.

I used pop dots to add the matted image on top.
I used my perfect layers rulers to cut the mat.

I finished it off with the pearl button,
seam binding bow..made with my bind-it-all
and
a couple of I-rock gems to the flower centers on the background paper.

Gecko Galz DT project.....

Good morning everyone!

My Gecko Galz DT project today is a quick little card.

The background paper is from Heartfelt Creations.

The image is from the Mary Pickford collage sheet also at Gecko Galz.

I layered them with a piece of black cardstock and used my Perfect Layers Rulers to make the great matts.

I cut a piece of doily for the top of the card.

I used a piece of velvet ribbon that I cut for a banner, below the pop dotted image
and topped it with a bow made on my bow-it-all.

Thanks for visiting!

Altered Bike

Hi everyone!

Tonight I want to share the Prima Bike that I altered.

I was so excited when I bought this bike but like every other thing else,
that is out of the norm,
I got it and put it aside,
afraid to do anything to it for fear of ruining it!

It took a while but I finally played and this is what I did.....

I took the bike off the base,
sanded it and added some vintage photo distress stain,
then added mod podge.

From there I got out my painted and bravely added some rose buds, leaves and vines.....
then a big sigh of relief...
I like how they came out!
LOL

I gesso'd the bike, then added vintage white Folk Art paint.
When that was dried I added, with a dry brush, some burnt umber, then wiped it off a bit.

I topped that with rock candy distress crackle paint.

Here you can see the painting and crackle.....

I put the bike back together on the base and began to embellish it.

Starting with the Prima's Stationers Desk paper pkg.
I cut a circle for the inside of the front of the bike.
I also, using the Tattered Florals TH die,
cut the pieces for my large flower.
Both circle and floral die cuts were inked with vintage photo distress ink.

I added the paper circle to the bike and topped that with a circle chipboard piece that I painted with the vintage white,
topped with rock candy distress crackle paint and vintage photo distress ink.

I took a string of pearls and glued that all around the inside and started adding my flowers.

I tucked some gems and pearl strings in with the flowers.

I took a resin piece and painted it with burnt umber then rubbed it off,
topped it with a bow and added it inside the bike.

I finished off the inside of the bike with a little piece of lace trim that I sprayed with a couple different sprays.

I wanted to add the frame to the outside so I grabbed a frame I've been hanging on to for a while,
from Michaels $1 bin,
and painted it with a mix of colors then wiped it off a bit.
I added a butterfly that I had fussy cut and added glossy accents to.

Wanting the frame to be removable,
so I could change out the photo when I want to,
I laid it on the base and added flowers around it.
Along with being pretty, the flowers brace the frame from sliding off the base.

Below is another look at the finished piece.

Pretty Birdie card...

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all are warm, dry and safe...
it's been raining a lot here and more to come all week!
Hoping you are all out of the tornado paths!

Today's project is a card I made for our
Cross Promotion Project at Gecko Galz.

This month we get to play with
Vintage By Me Craft pack papers & images.

Here is my card.....

I matted my papers and images with my Perfect Layers Rulers and a piece of yellow cardstock.

The background paper is called Ivy Vines.
It is part of the Floral Symphony paper pkg at Gecko Galz.

My next layer added with pop dots is the paper from Vintage By Me Craft.

The bird image is from For the Birds collage set at Gecko Galz.

I cut a piece of ribbon for the banner behind the first layer,
added a bit of fancy trim under the right side of the second layer
and finished with a smilie face button.
