My Artistic Adventure Challenge #6

It's time for a new challenge over at
My Artistic Adventures!

Our theme is

Anything Goes

Create any NEW tangible item, Card, tag, ATC, Layout, altered art piece, Banner, pretty much anything you can come up with that is tangible using some of my digital images (or others).
(Sorry no digital entries)

Here is a look at what I created.....

I am really into working on my art journals these days so why not add a page for our Anything Goes challenge.
I actually started the page with the three colors you see painted in the background,
love how it came out but.....

that wasn't the plan!

LOL

During the plan adjusting stage
I decided to add a bunch of inky swirls and dots.
Once that was done I couldn't think of anything else to add but these
 pretty yellow tags

and the cool bee's papers from My Artistic Adventures Etsy!

I used 4 of the tags...
I printed them in two different sizes so I could tuck a small one under the larger one (to the left)
and I tucked a top part of another larger one on the other side toward the right (kinda buried)
and the last one I used a circle punch and added the circles all over.

I added the bee paper on top of the top tag and I also fussy cut a couple of bees and the words Buzz to add to my background.

I wrapped some fiber around the bee paper.

I added some glitter tap here and there around the tags.

Using a pen I outlined everything.....
because I was in the mood to doodle

Below you can see one of the fussy cut bees that I added on top of the bee paper and then I finished off with a fiber bow and a banner with my sentiment.

Here's the banner set...

I hope you will join us for this challenge...

I can't wait to see what you create!

Please remember you can use other images to
play along & win the "Top three badge"
but in order to win the Random Draw (a free collage sheet)
 and
Designer's Choice (chance to Guest Design and receive free images)
you must use one of My Artistic Adventures images.

Don't forget to stop over and see the rest of the DT's creations over on the challenge blog!

Hat's Off!

Hi everyone!

I joined a challenge group on Facebook.....

March's challenge is to use a cute little hat from her store.

I couldn't resist!

This is what I did with the hat...

I started by wetting the edges so I could curl the brim a bit
(Laurie also did this with the hats she worked on...I loved the look so had to do that myself)

Then painted it with some cream paint and
rubbed with a little vintage photo distress ink on the edges.

Here's a couple of closer looks.....

I covered it with some mesh ribbon,
glued the feathers to the one side
and added a couple different trims.

I finished off with a rose button and a couple little pearl bits.

I hope you check out the link above to the challenge group,
there are some gorgeous hats being altered!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Artistic Adventures Challenge #5

It's time for a new challenge over at
My Artistic Adventures!

Our theme is

Create any NEW tangible item, Card, tag, ATC, Layout, altered art piece, Banner, pretty much anything you can come up with that is tangible using some of my digital images (or others).

Here is a look at what I created.....

I haven't altered a notebook/journal for some time now so I thought I would now.

I started with a couple of papers from the
I love the shades of green in this collection!

I used polka dots for the front of the book and gingham for the back.

I put a green ribbon,
that has a bit of lace on it as well,
on the spine
and
wrapped another ribbon around to use as a tie closure for the journal.

You can see the ribbon on the spine a bit better on these two photos.

I added the scrap of green corrugated paper over the ribbon to help keep it in place.

Then started layering bits and pieces...

The quote image is from Gecko Galz
That is on pop dots.

I used some scrap lace trim and fiber trim to tuck under the image.

A little string of pearls across the top of the corrugated piece.

Then finished off with a bunch of flowers that I've kinda been hoarding...
mostly because they are green and I don't use green much!
The larger flower has a pearl button center
and the 2 medium sized flowers have a couple of pink brads to bring in the pink from the image
and
the 3 bitty flowers were just 4 or 5 each of the little flowers bunched and glued together to form a few little buds.

I tucked a few white little leaves and a couple little stamen bits underneath to finish off my piece.

I hope you will join us for this challenge...
show us your green!
I can't wait to see what you create!

It can be one of the free products, stamps, collage images, or digital papers!! It is up to you!!
The winner will receive a $25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree

Here is the sample piece I created...

The striped paper is from the Dapper Dan paper pack
The floral paper and the fussy cut butterfly is from the
The tags are from the Vintage Tags collage sheet
and the  stamp is from the In My Garden stamp set

I colored in my stamp with a combination of Spectrum Noir & Distress markers
then used my corner chomper on the edges before matting it on a piece of shimmering blue cardstock.

I layered my pieces along with a doily,
placed the fussy cut butterfly on top of the stamp
and a seam binding bow below.

And below you can see that I simply tucked the vintage tags under the doily.

I hope you all will join us for the challenge
