Towel holder upgrade

Hi everyone!

I haven't been in much of a mood for scrapping lately but I do have a project that I worked on yesterday to show you.

I have had this paper towel holder for ages and it was looking a bit ragged so I decided to paint it.

Umm,
I forgot to take a pic of the original state but trust me it was not good!

Here is a look at the first couple of coats of ivory.....

It's hard to really see what it looks like here.
There are fruits, flowers, leaves and vines on it.

The towel bar in it's original state shows a little bit of what it looked like before,
although the bar was the best looking part of it.....

And here is a look at the finished piece...

A couple of closeups...

When I started I was a little nervous about doing the painting because I am not an artistic painter. I know very little about shading and blending but once I got out the sand paper I was loving what I did!

Now I just have to finish up with the towel bar, seal it and hang it in my kitchen!

Happy Scrappy Day!

12 tags of 2012

While hopping around this morning I came across Tim Holtz blog and saw that he has changed his
"12 Tags of Christmas" to "12 Tags of 2012".

I'll miss the "12 tags of Christmas" but then again I never found the time to do any this past year so I'm hoping that the "12 tags of 2012" will be easier to keep up with since it will be just one tag every month.

Here is the tag I made inspired by February's tag...

Tim's tag was Valentine's Day inspired but since Valentines Day is over I went in another direction.

I used my new stamps...
teapot and teacup.

I stamped them with vintage photo distress ink and lightly colored them with some colored pencils, you can hardly tell in these pic's.

I used pearl paint dabber on my background stamp
 then
weathered wood, rusty hinge and worn lipstick distress inks on the background.
I sprayed it with a Perfect Pearls mist I made.
After that I embossed it with my
Birds & Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Tim used bling and charms on top with his ribbon but I chose to add flowers & gems to the bottom.

I'm linking up to Tim Holtz blog.

Mini & tag

Hi everyone!

I'm baaack! LOL

I have gotten so bad with taking care of my blog!
Gonna try to fix that!
Fingers crossed!
_________

I want to show you the mini album I just finished.

Yup,
 I know,
 Christmas is over,
but with the holiday craziness I didn't get the chance to make a Christmas mini so here it is!

I used a lot of bling and glitter,
kinda hard to see in these pic's.

This page below was inspired by a card I saw, made by Donna, over at

The pearl drop pieces are from Pro31 Design.
_______

Here is a tag I threw together also...

The background is inked with
Rusty Hinge, Crushed Olive and Vintage Photo Distress inks.
I am really loving the script stamp I used on the background also!

Family Mini

I am so bad at blogging lately!
Busy, busy, busy...

I wanted to pop in and show you a mini I just made.....

I used Haley's Collection by Scribble Scrabble.

Funny thing is, I got all the papers out and started working and thought...
"hmm, this looks familiar!"
I ran into the kitchen and sure enough it's the same paper Pam used to make me a recipe mini.
Yup, I love it!

Ok, back to this mini...

I used my Silhouette Cameo to make the big flower as well as the butterflies and the "Family" pieces.

The little rose in the center of the big flower is from Lacee over at Bella Creation
I believe she got them from Pro 31 Designs.

And speaking of Pro 31 Designs, that is where I got the wheat grass bling and the lily.

The iddy biddy rose buds that are tucked in with the lily are from Flying Unicorn.
I touched them with a little Wild Honey distress ink.

The leaves and the little orange roses are Recollections.

I also used a variety of ribbons mostly from Michaels.
The brown and orange seam binding came from Shabby Cottage Studio.

The pearl spray I made!
First time and I like it!
I will definitely be doing that again!

Here's a look at the inside pages...

I might have gone a little tag happy!
I had fun using my Silhouette!
