Holiday greetings!

Morning everyone!
I hope you all had a great Christmas!

With  my oldest kids and grand kids living so far away and unable to travel right now we had a quiet Christmas here at home with our youngest daughter.
It was a little sad not seeing the rest of the family but I did get to talk to them so I enjoyed that!

Bring on to the New Year!

________

Speaking of the New Year...
I was doing a little blog hopping and came across this incredible giveaway!
You are not going to want to miss this one!

Melissa over at Creating from the Heart is a very generous girl!

I am not going to list everything she is giving away but I will say there is a gift card involved and a set of markers that you won't want to miss!

Have a great week everyone!

Christmas tag

Hi everyone!
Hope all your holiday preparations are all winding down.

I am done with my baking and have been cleaning.
Since I was able to find my work space this morning I decided to sit down and make this tag tonight.

The Santa image is from Bella Creations

The tag is from the box my tape runner came in.
I ripped the printed side off giving it a little texture.

Added some Peeled Paint Distress stain, then I used a music note stamp on it but it wasn't doing anything for me so I covered it with Pearl Acrylic Paint Dabber and sprayed it with a bronze pearl mist I made up.
I love the background I ended up with.

I used Platinum Stickles around the framed Santa, the tag and on the little roses.

Here is a close up.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS
TO ALL!

Warm Wishes

I have been out to the Post Office already this morning and I hope to be back there later today with what I hope is the last things I need to mail for the holidays.
I am a little later than I wanted to be but better late than never right?

Actually the fact that I made it out today at all is a good thing since my back is giving me a lot of pain today.
Hasn't been this bad in a while.

After watching the weather station this morning I was determined to get these things going today because tomorrow we are expecting snow all day and into Wednesday. Don't know how much but I don't want to have  go out with packages in hand, walking to the post office, or anywhere else for that matter, in any snow.

Upon coming home I decided that, in this cold wintery weather, I deserved a warm cozy drink so I am sitting here with a hot cup of
Paris blend tea!
Oh so yummy!!!

And because it is so cold out I am drinking from my mug that I bought from
Ron Jon's down on Cocoa Beach in Florida.

What could be better on a cold blustery day than sipping a tasty blend with visions of
beautiful sunshiny weather,
warm ocean breezes,
the sound of the sea
and
to reflect back to the memories I have of time spent with my brother who lives down there.

Along with my tea I am nibbling on a few of the holiday cookies I made the other day.

I am linking up with

Warm Wonderful Holiday Wishes to everyone!!!

Image fun

The other day my internet went down and since I am addicted to sitting here with my computer I decided to play in GIMP.

Heather, over at the Oh la la Group,
gave us a Gecko Galz image to play with.

This is what I did with it...

To see the original,
 hop on over to Bella.

The poinsettia is also a Gecko Galz image.

The little snow girl is a Graphic's Fairy image.

Here are a couple of cards I made this morning with these...

The Santa image is from the Bella Muse challenge this month at Bella Creations as well.

I almost made it...

I have been cleaning and rearranging all day in my scrap room.

Shortly after finding my table top I found a photo I printed last year
and
 forgot about.

Let the distraction begin!

I took the picture and made this Christmas card for my sister.

The picture was taken from her back deck last year when they were getting hit with lots of snow.

I think the shot looks like a Thomas Kinkade.

I covered the picture with clear UTEE.
I love the icy look it gives the photo.

Back to finishing the cleaning of my scrap room tomorrow!

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...

How yummy are your ornaments!

Yup, that's right!

Apparently my puppy likes my ornaments!

Anything made of paper or fabric is not safe.

I wouldn't count anything plastic safe either but paper and fabric are easier to chew on!

Here's a look at my tree as it is now...

Oh, the lights don't work any more now either!
My hub's says he can fix that though!

More ornaments

Here are more of the ornaments I started making yesterday...

I painted them all with gesso.

On the mitten, I added a some peeled paint distress stain.

The "jingle bells" was stamped with
jet black StazOn,
then I added some platinum stickles all over.

This bell has broken china distress stain all over it and vintage photo distress stain on the edges
(my stains are a gift from my online bestie Heather).

I used fired brick distress ink all over the stocking.

This is a close up of the pearl sprays.

I sprayed all of the ornaments to give them all a shimmer.

You can't see it very well on the burlap but you can see it on the holly piece above.

I would say that the stamped seam binding was inspired by my friend Cindy, but to be honest, I downright copied her, right down to buying the same stamp she has! I'm pretty sure she's okay with that though, she told me where to find the stamp!
LOL
I love it, it's my new fav!

Altered frame

When I should have been heading to bed last night I got a little carried away altering my first frame.

I found this frame for 50 cents.

I am so pleased with how this came out.

I painted the frame a butter cream acrylic paint, then hit it with some vintage photo distress ink.

The images were found on Graphics Fairy and I edited them on Gimp.

I used a little fired brick distress ink on the cute little rose buds that I got from Flying Unicorn and also to the center rose.

The pearl sprays are from Pro 31 Design.

How'd I do with my flower spray?

I'm not sure I like the center rose so I may change that.

I'll be entering this in the
 L'Art A Transforme challenge
 at Bella Creations,
Roses in December challenge
at Flying Unicorn
and
Brag Monday at Graphics Fairy.

Ornaments

Today,
after fighting with my printer,
I made a few ornaments.

With the new puppy wildly running around, getting the other two dogs going and knocking down the tree, I have decided that my tree needs to be decorated with all unbreakable ornaments.

Here's a look at a couple I made today...

I used gold glitter glue on the stars...

shimmery glitter on the angel wings...

and white flocking on the clouds.

The angel image is from Graphics Fairy.
I'll be linking this to Brag Monday.

This one I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp and Show Stars.

This last one is a card holder ornament...

I am entering this one in the

Season's Greetings

First of all...

Steph, if hub's is near by don't let him see this post!!!
_____

I'll start with this card I made this morning.....

 It's an easel card...
I played with a bunch of stickles, in a clear, green & gold for the ornament.
I used some antique linen distress ink on everything...
the paper, doily, lace, tag and fingers!

A close up of the inside...
I used the platinum perfect pearls to mount the velum on top of the patterned paper.
I punched a small hole with my crop-a-dile and put the perfect pearls on the hole making sure it seeped down underneath.

I love this card and want to keep it for myself.....
but I won't!

I'll be entering this in the Bella Creations Cartes Classiques November challenge,

_______

This is the sketch pad that I made for my son-in-law.
He loves to draw and if I remember correctly he has a small book that he carries with him.
This one is bigger so he can keep it home and use it for larger sketches.

I used a piece of canvas for the cover that I painted with several different colors of acrylic paints, then I used my new Stampabilities-Faded Text Background stamp and my jalopy stamp from the
Tim Holtz collection.
My Prima Mask and some
Cashmere Texture Magic
for the bricks in the corner.
I used a clear decoupage to add the skeleton leaves and title, then over everything to seal it.

Hope he likes it.
Have a hard time looking for things to buy for him, never thought I'd come up with something to make for him!

I will be sharing both of these projects over at the Make it Monday blog.
