A Very Vintage Christmas

Good morning friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Are you still full?
I am!

How many of you went out for Black Friday shopping...
or Thanksgiving night shopping?

Did you find all the wonderful things you needed,
to help Santa out,
at great bargains?

I have to admit...
as much as I've always ran in the opposite direction on
Black Friday,
the last couple of years I have been out there!

I grab what I'm looking for,
as fast as I can find it,
and run to the checkout!
Don't like being in that craziness for too long!

Not this year though...
I did a little online shopping and a LOT of relaxing at home!

*****

Here comes Christmas!

I have been sharing,
during November,
some of my Christmas cards.....

some of them started out as a little tag.....

today I'm going to share another one.....

This one may be one of my favorites!

I cut the tag out of a white sheet of card stock,
I used a corner punch for the top corners
and my corner rounder chomper for the bottom.

The star background is a paper from

On top of that I matted that cute little jar
with shimmery green paper from my scrap stash,
then added a little bow.

The darling little girl is also from
Gecko Gals...
She is part of the Christmas Cuties collage sheet.
I added liquid glue dots and a coral glitter to her roses,
then I glued the feather behind her
and finished by mounting her with pop dots.

The snowflake trim is a scrap
and the poinsettia & leaf are from my
"Geez I've had these forever, I should use them"
stash!
(I know you all have one of these stashes!)
LOL

The red snowflake paper is from the
Saint Nick paper pk by Fancy Pants Designs.

The inside was stamped with a Christmas sentiment
and
I used up the scraps from the background paper on the front,
for a bit of embellishing.

Below you can see the tag removed from the card.....

I had cut little slits in the two opposite corners to tuck the tag in and keep it removable.

The diecut is another piece from my
"Geez I've had these forever, I should use them"
stash.....(it's a big stash)!
LOL
I backed it with another piece of the white card stock
and
stamped with the Joy sentiment.

Another look at the finished card/tag.....

Oh,
 just a reminder...

Don't forget to check out Gecko Galz blog everyday in December!
(Dec 1st - 24th)
We are having our annual
24 Tags of Christmas!
Everyone in the DT has a tag to share and a tutorial on how they put it together!

Thank you for visiting me on this wonderful holiday weekend!

Christmas Boot Card

Good morning everyone!

Hope you're all keeping warm!

I want to share a Christmas card I made using an image from a collage sheet by
Heather Hudson at My Artistic Adventures Etsy.

I also used an image I designed a while ago.

Here is my card...

The background paper is from the
Saint Nick paper pkg by Fancy Pants Designs.

Pop dotted on top of that is a piece of green textured card stock that I ran through my Cuddlebug with a snowflake embossing folder,
then I gave the snowflakes some shimmer with some perfect pearls powder.

Next is a doily I cut on my Cameo.

More pop dots to mount the image I designed.

I found the original images at Graphics Fairy.....
you can also find the "Christmas Exhibition" image on our
Christmas Icons collage sheet over at Gecko Galz!

I altered them in GIMP.
I matted it with a shiny green cardstock.

You can see my image below...

Using more pop dots I took Heather's Boot and added that beside my image.
I used glossy accents on the little box in the boot to highlight the
"Merry Christmas" sentiment
and
bisque liquid pearl drops on the buttons.

A close up of the boot is below...

I finished the card with the bow I made with my bow-it-all.
The ribbon was a lucky find at the Dollar Tree!

Pine Cone Cheers...

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a quick card to share!

I had this package of Christmas die cuts for a while now.
I would like to tell you who made them but it seems that after I pulled out what I wanted I put the rest of the bag in that
"I'll put it over here where it's safe" black hole......
you know the one!

Anyway.....

Every once in a while I pull it out and find one or two pieces that calls to me and that is what happened with these pine cones!

My goal was a bit of a rustic look,
what do you think?

The background red paper & the striped scallop punch paper is from
Saint Nick paper pkg by Fancy Pants Designs

The doily was cut on my Cameo.

The little bit of paper under my sticky back ribbon is from
the Kitchy Kool paper pack at Gecko Galz Etsy

All my papers and the sticky back ribbon had a little
vintage photo distress ink rubbed on them.

The star is a chip board piece I had laying on my desk for who know's how long!
I added barn door distress ink on it,
I think it matched the background paper wonderfully.

On the pine cone diecut I added some glossy accents to the Cheers tag to make it stand out a little more.

And finally my bow that I made with my Bow-it-All!

Snowball Babe Christmas card...

Good morning friends!

One more week until Thanksgiving!
Woohoo, I can't wait to eat all that good food!
Of course I have to cook it first.....
so worth it though!

Until then.....

I have a Christmas card to show you!

I'm absolutely loving the
Snow Babies collage sheet from Gecko Galz!
I knew when I saw this sheet that I would be making a bunch of my Christmas cards using these little cuties!
Every one of them has not failed to make me smile!

Here is my card.....

Isn't she adorable?

I used vintage photo distress ink on all my papers.

I started with a card bland and added a piece of paper on top
 from

Using a scrap piece of white cardstock
and a Martha Stewart border punch,
I added a border to the left side of the card.
I topped that with a little piece of ribbon.

Before adding the little girls image to the card with pop dots,
I added the ribbon across the front,
then the little button that I thread with blue & white twine.
and then the blue pearly trim.

To finish off I added a bunch of little liquid glue dots & white glitter for a snowy look,
then a pretty bow that I made using my Bow-it-All.

Girl with Sled Christmas card...

Good morning everyone!

Today I have another one of my Christmas cards to show you!

This is another one of the 5 that I made recently
starting with a tag that I had made with another idea in mind!

You can see the first one here
and the second here.

Here she is.....

The sweet little girl image is from
Gecko Galz Snow Babies collage sheets.
I added a little bit of flower trim to her hat
and
shimmering dots of diamond stickles all over for the snow flakes falling around her!

I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the image,
added a button and
pop dotted the image to the tag.

The blue/print background is from the
Saint Nick paper pkg by Fancy Pants Designs.

The green snowflake paper on the tag is from my scrap box.

I used a corner punch on the top corners of the tag.

Below is a peek of the inside.....

I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the scrap strip of the Saint Nick paper.

Kid's with Basket Christmas card & tag...

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Today I'm sharing a Christmas card that has a little tag tucked in the cover,
for hanging on a tree if the recipient desires!

Here it is.....

I started with the tag.....

I cut the tag shape with a plain piece of white card stock.
The checked paper is from the Kitchy Kool paper pkg at Gecko Galz.
I added a bit of modeling paste to 2 opposite corners.

The postcard that the chipboard deer is on is from
Gecko Galz Christmas Icons collage sheet.
The deer was inked with vintage photo and topped with
vintage photo distress powder and I gave him a little Christmas twine scarf.
I tucked a little lace trim under the postcard and under the "Merry Christmas" sentiment that I typed up on my computer.

I used pop dots to add the sweet little girl, her brother, their Christmas tree and basket of Christmas goodies.

For the card...
I started with a card blank &
topped that with a piece of paper,
 from the
Saint Nick by Fancy Pants Designs paper pk,
that I cut a slit in to fit the tag in.

A peek inside.....

And when the tag is removed.....

I cut the doily on my Cameo
and
the postcard is one I designed a couple years back.....
I added some platinum stickles to the edges.

Little Red Christmas card...

Hey Friends!

I'm in Christmas card making mode!
I shocked myself the other day by making 5 fairly quickly!
Don't know if that's ever happened before and
I'm pretty sure it won't happen again too often!
LOL

How are you doing in the Christmas card making department?
Are you quick?
Do you make several in one sitting?

Ok, so there's a little secret as to how I was able to make 5 so fast and
I'll tell you how I did it.....

I made a few little tags a little while ago
(not 5 in one day)

I thought some would go on the tree or maybe as package tags but once done I thought.....
"They might look good on a card!"

I set them on my desk,
collecting them as they were made,
until I was ready to assemble some cards!

The first one I'll show you today is the one I call
Little Red
because in her cute little red outfit she reminds me of
Little Red Riding Hood!

Here it is.....

This little cutie is part of the Snow Babies collage set at
Gecko Galz!
Isn't she cute?

I used platinum stickles around Red's image,
as well as on the oval diecut and
on the image itself for a snowflake affect!

The background, polka dot, paper is from
Saint Nick paper by Fancy Pant's Designs

The holly paper and the shimmery red card stock are from my old scrap box.

I used a corner punch for the white card stock piece of my tag.

I layered my image,
with pop dots,
on top of the oval doily/diecut I did with my Cameo,
laying that on top of a piece of scrap ribbon.

Once I had my tag on my card I punched a couple of scalloped circles,
(out of a few pieces of scrap sheets of the Saint Nick papers that I used on another card)
cut them and tucked them under the tag.

Below is a peek at the inside...

Wishing you a quick card making season!

Thanksgiving place cards...

Hello everyone!

Make sure you read down to the end of this post to find out about the
New Challenge,
DT Call,
and
GIVEAWAY!

I want to show you these cute little place cards I made using a couple of images from

There are few times that my daughter and I decide to get fancy with our dining room table setting and Thanksgiving is one of those times!

When I saw these little pumpkins at My Artistic Adventures I knew right away what I was going to do with them!

I added a diecut from my Cameo that I cut in half and stamped with a little pumpkin then added our name with the text boxes.
I glittered the name tags,
inked everything with vintage photo distress ink
and added pop dots under the little pumpkins on top.
A little bit of twine that I unwound, for the tag, finished the front.

To make it stand I just took a piece of scrap card stock and folded a bit of it
then glued it to the back.

Here's a look at the collage sets I used...

you can click on the images and it will bring you to ...

My inspiration pieces below...

I made this card with a hidden tag
My hoarded pieces are the flowers
and Tim Holtz seam binding, that has been in my stash for ever!
The background card stock is from my
leftover paper bits stash.
Most of this card and tag was made using the digi images from two of the
My Artistic Adventures Etsy
Thanksgiving collage collections
(pictured & linked below)

My next inspiration piece is this altered bottle
(Links to the banner, text boxes and pumpkins are pictured below)

I colored the inside of the bottle with
Terra Cotta Alcohol Ink (haven't used that in ages!).
I dripped it in and swirled around.
I also used my heat gun to try to dry it
(not easy but it worked eventually).

Here's a close up of the banner, text boxes and pumpkin images...
The other side of the bottle...
I used a tag and sentiment from the collections below.

The jute & crochet flower were made by me.

I added a link to each collage sheet below so you can simply click on the image and go straight to it's Etsy page.
