Jewelry Boxes

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Today I want to show you the boxes that I made for my granddaughters for Christmas.

I started with some wooden boxes that I found at the Dollar Tree...

I added some pretty papers that are as close to the girls favorite colors as I could get.

The trim on the sides are all different and I placed some on the lid,
some on the bottom.

The trim piece on the top is from my mom's stash so even though the girls never got to meet their Great Grammy I wanted them to have something special from her on there.

The flowers are from I am Roses
and some from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I curled some of the flower stem wires around a skewer to add a little bit of different dimension.

The pearl trim tucked it with the flowers is from Pro31 Design.

I added the gems to a couple of the letters and I pop dotted them as well.

On this lower photo you can see the shimmer of the pearl paint dabber that I used for all the sides where there is no paper.

For a different look at these as well as a look inside you can check out my video here.

DT Holiday tag inspiration...

This is another tag that I did for the 24 Days of Tags at Gecko Galz
I hope you are all enjoying all the inspirations we have been sharing with you this month!

Santa tag

I started out by running the blank tag through my Cuddlebug in the snowflake embossing folder.
Then I used my Pearl Dabber all over the snowflakes. I rubbed broken china ink all over, then used a wet wipe to wipe it off the Pearled snowflakes.
I brushed Crackle Accents all over and let dry.

Distressed the edges of the tag and Santa & Bingo card images with the Tim Holtz distresser, added Vintage Photo ink on those distressed edges as well as all over the tag.
I, then, sprayed a little Suede and Trunk Bay glimmer mists all over, dabbed it dry, leaving color in the cracks.
I simply overlapped the two images with a little glue.
The mini bells were strung on a piece of wire. I wrapped the rose buds in the wire and looped them on the seam binding.

Perpetual Calendar

Good morning everyone!

Today I am going to show you the Christmas present I made for my daughter.

I used Recollections Union Square Plaza Union paper pkg.

Love the red and black vintage look!

Red and black are my daughters favorite colors so this collection worked out perfectly!

The box was a Christmas box I found at the Dollar General.

I added gesso to the outside then a bit of vintage photo before adding the papers.

The flowers are Recollections...the large rose
and Wild Orchids Craft...the small roses.
The gems that are tucked into the flower arrangement are from Pro31 Design.
Trim is from my stash.
Black bling trim is from Walmart.

Here are the "date" cards, front and back.....

I love that this paper has glittery bling on several of the sheets,
unfortunately I could not show that in the pictures.

The days of the week cards.....

The tags with the days and the months on them were cut on my Cameo.

All the papers were inked with vintage photo distress ink.

The month cards.....

The different tags on the bottom of the month cards are part of the paper line.
I fussy cut them all.
They as well as the month and day tags are all pop dotted onto the cards.

And the back of the months...

I used a variety of lined papers for the back of them months so she could write every ones birthdays, anniversaries, etc back there.

If you would like to see a video of this box,
my first youtube video,
feel free to stop by and check it out here.

Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas!
Stay warm!

Christmas gift bag...

Morning friends!

Today I want to show you another Christmas gift bag that I made yesterday.

The paper I used to make the bag has been a part of my hoard stash forever...

I used my used my Martha Stewart score board and made the bag.

The music note and girl images are from the
Old Fashioned Christmas collage sheet at Gecko Galz

The heart image is from a collage set that my friend Heather made.
She has a great collage collection at her etsy shop here

I fussy cut all the images.

I used vintage photo distress ink on the edges of the bag and images.

The poinsettia is sprayed with
Pink Taffy Glimmer Mist and Biscotti Perfect Pearls Mists.

The flower ribbon is from my stash,
mesh bling is from Pro31 Design,
and
the poinsettia is from I am Roses.

Christmas bag...

Hi everyone!

Today I had a chance to play in my scrap room so I decide to join the
"For a Gift" challenge over at
Sugar Creek Hollow.

The challenge is to make a vintage or shabby chic project that is useful for a gift...
not a card, but a box, bag, gift card, money enclosures, gift tags, etc...

I chose to alter this bag.....

As you can see this is going to find it's way to
my dear friend, Heather...aka my BOLB (best online buddy).

No hint's as to what will be inside!

***
I started with one of Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine Pockets.

Topped it with a piece of striped scrap paper.
I used both my tape glider and liquid glue to hold it down to the glassine paper.

I cut the hat and holly on my Cameo.

The paper I used for the hat is
Tis the Season from Gecko Galz Grandma's House papers.

I added a little bit of flocking to the rim and pompom of the hat,
love that you can still see the paper pattern through it.

The ribbon is from my stash, I hot glued that on.

The felt bow is from Martha Stewart Crafts.

The mesh bling is from Pro31 Design.

Masked Christmas card...

Hi everyone!

Today I did a card to enter in the
Stencils and Masks Challenge.

The few stencils and masks that I have are not Christmasy but I wanted to add to my Christmas card collection,
so, this is what I used.....

I took the negative from my ornament die cuts,
fussy cut around it.
I used it to mask two ornaments
with vintage photo and broken china distress inks.....

The herring bone patterned paper is from my stash,
the snowflake paper that I masked on is from
Gecko Galz Winter Wonderland paper collection,
the tag is also from the Winter Wonderland collection and
the word Joy is from
Gecko Galz Old Fashioned Christmas collage collection.

I inked all of that with vintage photo distress ink.

The poinsettia is from I am Roses.
The sheer shimmery ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

Another Christmas card...

Hello everyone!

Here is another Gecko Galz DT inspiration.

The red and white background is from my stash.
The next layer is hard to see in the photo but it is covered in snowflakes
and is one of the many wonderful papers from the
Winter Wonderland paper pkg at Gecko Galz this month.

The little girl and snowman postcard are also from Gecko Galz this month,
they are a part of the Postcard Memories collage sheet.
I added that with pop dots.

I distressed the edges of all my papers and added vintage photo distress ink.

The holiday sentiment tickets are from Silhouette.
The ribbon is from my stash.

The chipboard ornament is a $1 bin find from Michaels that I colored with
aged mahogany and picket fence distress markers
then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mists.
It is very shimmery!

Happy Holidays!

Another Christmas card...

Good morning!

Today's card is a DT project for

This months Terrye French stamp is another cutie!

I got out my scrap box and made a patchwork background,
then wrapped a little bit of lace around it,
and
cut a shape on my Silhouette Cameo to use my stamp on.

I colored the stamp with my Spectrum Noir markers and an embossing gel pen.

I pop dotted the die cut shape and added a little mini rose from Wild Orchids Craft.

12 tags of 2012 - December

Hi again!

I just finished my Tim inspired tags/cards and couldn't wait to post them.

The first one.....

The background, snowflake paper is from the
Winter Wonderland paper collection at Gecko Galz.

Both tags (this one and the next) were done,
as Tim did,
with a distress stain and distress metallic stain.

The chipboard ornament is colored with
broken china and picket fence distress markers
then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mists.

I added the gems with my I-rock.

The tinsel/pearl trim was from my stash.

My second tag.....

The background on this one is from the
Grandma's House paper collection over at Gecko Galz.

I inked the swirl grunge board piece with vintage photo then sprayed with heirloom gold perfect pearls mist.

The poinsettia was inked with fired brick and the leaves with pine needle distress inks,
then I added glitter glue.

The red reindeer on top of the ticket is from Gecko Galz
Old Fashioned Christmas collage collection.
I fussy cut it and used pop dots.

Christmas card...

Hi everyone!

The drk blue base is a piece of coredinations paper that I sanded lightly.
On top of that is a piece of patterned paper from the

I added glitter glue around the edges of the tag and stapled a piece of shimmery ribbon from my stash to it

Christmas ornament

Good Afternoon everyone!

Today I am doing my best to catch up with posting on my blog.
This morning I posted a card I made,
then set up a couple of scheduled blog posts to open over the next few days
and now I want to show you an ornament I made.

Here it is.....

I love this angel!
She is part of the very pretty Vintage Angels collage collection over at Gecko Galz.

I cleaned up her background in GIMP and sent her over to my Silhouette Cameo for cutting!
I love that I can do that!

I added her to the ornament with a pop dot and
slipped the three pearl drop pieces that I cut apart underneath with a little hot glue.
(the pearl drop trim is from Pro31 Design)

For the topper I used a little bit of platinum stickles,
cut a little piece of lace trim,
added a couple of leaves that I cut off a leave trim from
Really Reasonable Ribbons
and
topped that with a mini rose from
Wild Orchid Crafts.

And the back.....

I have another ornament diecut with the same Gecko Galz paper that I used for the front.

I added more platinum stickles to the topper
and
a white poinsettia from I am Roses.

Happy Holidays!

Christmas Card...

Hi everyone!
Hope your holiday season is going well!

I have been in Christmas card making mode for what seems to be forever!
LOL

Over the next couple of days I will be showing you some of them.

Today I'm going to show you one that I made using my DT products from Gecko Galz.

This months Winter Wonderland paper pkg was enough to inspire me and
with the addition of the Postcard Memories I was off to my craft table!

Here is the card I made.....

I love that snowman postcard, he's so cute!

I distressed all the edges with my Tim Holtz distresser and inked them with vintage photo distress ink.

The bottom layer is a piece of patterned paper from my stash and on top of that is one of the papers from
Gecko Galz Winter Wonderland paper pkg.

The bingo card is from Gecko Galz as well.
It is a part of Octobers Alter Me collage collection.

The mini canvas tag is a Maya Road piece,
I added the snowflake stamp with archival ink
and
the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I found this chipboard snowflake in the $1 bin at Michaels.
It was a pkg of 12!
I colored it with pearl paint dabber by Ranger,
then added some $1 bin glitter glue.

Happy Holidays!
