Thank you card take two...

In my last post I made a Thank you card using Heather's sketch from the Bella Tres Chic challenge.

Unfortunately that challenge required the use of  sequins, that I did not have, so I didn't enter it.

I was at Joannes the other day and happened to turn around, at the right time, in the right place, and saw a small bag of sequins.

I grabbed them.

I wasn't sure if I would get the chance to get to the challenge by the end of the month but my wonderful grandson was here today and decided to pour his juice all over the table and floor.
In my frantic rush to clean everything
(bind-it-all, punches, score board, etc...)
I'm not sure exactly where that card was but he managed to soak it.
The need for a new card was here.

This is what I did...

still using Heather's sketch...

adding the sequins...

and the tag...

I will also enter this in the Eensy Weensy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka dot Bikini over at Flying Unicorn

Thank you card...

I haven't been in much of a scrappy mood these days but today I felt a little inspired after hopping through a bunch of blogs and sites I frequent.

This is a thank you card I made to enter in the
Eensy Weensy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka dot Bikini
We had to use polka dots on our project anywhere any how.

As you know I play at Bella Creations all the time so you can bet this is also going to be entered in a challenge over there too.

As a matter of fact the image was given to us for the challenge.
The Bella Muse challenge
All we had to do was to use this image on any project.

Now without realizing it I combined the Bella Muse, Bella Tres Chic, and the Bella Unique Challenges.
However I am only entering in the Bella Muse.

The Bella Unique required us to make our own stick pin.
Although I did that on this card I already entered this challenge.
The pin making is fun so it had to be done again!

The Tres Chic challenge required the use of this sketch that Heather made...

Isn't it pretty?
I love this sketch so I did want to use it but I knew I couldn't enter the Tres Chic challenge because I have no sequins, which is a requirement. I went to the store to find some but could only find a huge bag and couldn't buy it knowing that I would probably never use all of them and I have some in the shed already.

I also used the Tres Chic challenge colors, unintentionally.

I picked colors I thought went well with the image.
After all was said and done and I realized that I did a combination of the three I checked the colors and I found that I have the brown in my polka dots,
the pink are the swirl stamps I did as well as the pearl on the pin,
the light blue is the glittery matt and the creme are my flowers and pearls.

Do you think maybe I was meant to do that challenge?
Oh well, LOL!

Here is my card...

Here's a close up of the pin...

Here is a close up of my Dusty Attic piece that was given to me by my Bella Buddy Heather...

I painted my DA piece with white acrylic paint then used some
Alcohol Inks, the Earthtones,
just dabbing them on randomly.
Topping it off with a layer of Glossy Accents.

The patterned papers and the pink ink I used for the scroll stamp are part of a gift sent to me from another Bella Friend, Pam.

The fabric flowers I made.
The creme roses are from Recollections.
The teal flowers are all by Petaloo.

I am proud of my flower grouping.
It's the first time I have done a spray like that and liked it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Playing around this weekend I decided to make a
blog signature for myself.

There were a few frustrating moments but I finally came up with this one...

The frame and the birds are from Graphic Fairies.

Thanks for visiting!

Mini by mini-me...

Thought I would show you the mini that my 14 yr old did for herself.

This is the first one she has ever made.

Seeing me making a few,
then Wonderful Starr made her one,
guess she couldn't resist any longer.

So here it is...

She did a pretty good job for the first time!

Starr you may see some tags that look like the same shaped tags you sent to her in the mini you made.
She used them as templates to trace and cut her own.

There are few buttons all through the mini and the flower on the cover are from Heather.

And a tag, the paisley transparency and the peekaboo frames came from Pam.

Starr, Heather and Pam are a few of my
Bella Buddies

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope your having a great weekend!

Mini cover

Just thought I would pop in and show you the cover to a mini I am making.

I am going to enter it into the

The challenge was to make your own stick pin and use it on any project.

My first thought when I saw this challenge was...

UGH!

You see I have all the pieces needed for this challenge tucked neatly away in the back of the shed, with everything else!

Then I got up and went to the store.

This was something I had been wanting to do and didn't want to wait.
Here's the mini...

The Graphic 45 Le Cirque was a Bella Creations challenge win.
I distressed the edges and painted some glossy accents on the two pieces here.

The cover itself is made from a piece of card stock that I painted with mod podge and put the burlap on then just trimmed it down to size.

I made the two fabric flowers myself and the gold one is a button.

Thanks for the visit!

Hugs!

Thinking of you

I made a card to enter into a few challenges.

First is the Bella Creations
Cartes Classiquies challenge.

The only requirement was to use a punch.

Second is the

The requirement was to add some sort of stitching.

And the third is

The requirement there, also, is to use some sort of stitching.

My first thought was to use an edge punch but then I thought to use a piece of old jeans and this is what I  up with.

I added the stitching freehand and I'm kinda proud of myself that it is not all uneven everywhere.

The punching I did to make it look like a patch on the jeans.
I used the Martha Steward punch around the corner, corner punch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you're having a great day!

Hi!

Hi everyone!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

It was pretty quiet here.
I got to play with my grandson for a couple of days.
I also had a couple of days that I could make a couple of cards.

My daughter and I tried, unsuccessfully, to go out and see some fireworks.
According to the site online they were suppose to start at 10pm but when we got there,
 around 5 minutes late,
we caught the tail end of the finale.
Drove home hoping to see some scattered around...

NONE!

Just inside the house I told my daughter
"we just weren't meant to see any this year",
and there it went,

  BOOM!!!

One of the neighbors down the street decided to light one off!

Missed that one too!

Oh well there is always next year!!!

Today...
started out as usual.
I got up. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

(just thought I would spare the morning routine)

turned on the computer to check my mail,
then off to do some blog hopping,
then in to visit my Bella friends
and what a delight for me...

I found that I was crowned the
Bella du Mois

WOOHOO!!!

I was not expecting that!

Those of you who visit often know already that
is a favorite place for me to play.

Take a look at my badge...

isn't she a beauty?

If you have not come over to Bella Creations to play yet, you should!
There are several group challenges every month for all the members
and
for those of you who are not sure about being a member yet
there are challenges for you too!
Right there on the home page.
Three challenges for anyone to play.
So come on over.
Check it out!
It's just not right that you are not having fun with us!
Who knows maybe one month you could be the
Bella du Mois too!

Time for me to hit the sheets!
Have a good night!
Sweet dreams!

Tinkerbell Teepee

My granddaughter LOVE'S Tinkerbell so when Shawn, over at
Bella Creations Viola Ink Group,
asked us to make a Teepee card with a fairly theme what else could I do?

And timing being everything, her birthday is in a couple of weeks!

Here's Tink...

I chose to make it a gift.
It will not fold up but instead be a shelf ornament for her.

I don't know if you can tell in these pics but being a project for the Viola Ink Group we had to have ink in there somewhere, so I used faded jeans distress ink and used it to outline all the chippy pieces as well as the exposed backs of them.

I also added the same faded jeans here and there on the background pieces. Not sure what came over me that made me add it so randomly to the background but I kinda like it.
 It's subtle but pretty.

Keeping with the Tinkerbell theme I made this birthday (stair step)card with some extra chippy pieces.

Here is a look at them side by side...

Tiny Dancer

Over at Bella Creations
in the Oh la la Group,
Helene gave us this gorgeous image from

She simply asked us to make a tag using this image and here is what I did...

The background is a combination of faded jeans, fired brick, wild honey, and vintage photo distress inks then I added some clear heat embossing.

The sheet music piece is from Graphic Fairies
I added a little wild honey and vintage photo distress ink, then used a metallic gold pen around the outline edge.

The ballerina image printed a bit dark so I used some worn lipstick distress ink, spritzed with some gold pearl spray I made, then painted it on her tutu, to bring it out a little more and give it a bit of sparkle.

The flourish are fussy cut pieces.

I am linking this up with Simon Says Stamp and Show's

I will also link up to Graphic Fairies

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a fun and safe, sparkling night!

Thank you!

Here is a card I made to enter into the
Weekend Challenge-Patriotic Blues
over at

I just happened to pick up these blue papers the other day at Joanne's aren't they pretty?

The challenge was to make 90% of your project blue.

The blue bird image is from Karen at Graphic Fairies.

I will be linking up to Graphics Fairies
Hop on over to see all the wonderful things everyone does with the great images that Karen shares over there.

Happy 4th of July America!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Hope everyone is having a great and safe weekend!

No great big plans for this weekend.
Stayed home and enjoyed spending time with my grandson.

Did a little shopping.

Joined in on the fun at Flying Unicorns blog hop.

And per the blog hop rules and regs I made this card...

We were to make any project that was inspired by the Creative Team at Flying Unicorn, through the blog hop.

All of the girls blogs were inspiring but I chose to use the inspiration from Heather and Heidi...

Heather made a beautiful, patriotic mini album. I love the images she used and I love her shaped tags that she makes.

Heidi made a layout using 4 different patterned papers that she used as stripes for her background.

We needed to not only use the inspiration from the hop but also had to sparkle and shine so...

on the Gecko Galz image, the balloon with kids, I added glossy accents to the flag and the flowers.
I also used metallic gold pen to bring out the ropes and flag pole.

The laser cut balloon was stamped and heat embossed in white then inked with faded jeans & brick red distress inks.
The basket on the bottom was inked with brushed corduroy distress ink and then topped with gold glitter glue.
Then gems to add the final touch.

HAPPY JULY 4th
