Halloween card

Good morning!

Today I have a quick card I put together for one of my
Gecko Galz DT projects this month.

The die cut was cut with my Cameo.
I used several different acrylic stamps and black soot distress ink on it,
then added some wild honey and rusty hinge distress ink all around the edges.

The background paper is from the Coven paper pack.

The little girl image is from Haunted Ephemera collage sheet.
I inked the edges with black soot distress ink.

The Halloween twine
(Really Reasonable Ribbon)
was a scrap I had on my desk.
I wrapped it around the card and tied it in front.
I put the flower on top and fed the knot through the center,
then unwound the twine and added the bat button on top.

I finished the card off with a little silver flat trim, on the top right corner.

Halloween tag.....

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a great day!

I got a quick chance to play in my crafty place today and decided to make this tag.....

Rearranging the mess on my desk I found all these Halloweeny pieces!

Most come from My Artistic Adventures Etsy
&

Just the sight of it all was inspiration enough to get me going!

The flowers, ribbon and mesh ribbon are from my stash and I cut the ghost with my Cameo.

I inked everything with black soot distress ink.
Used stickles on the clown, ticket and ghost.

I was wanting to add this to a challenge over at
so I added the staples to my sentiment boxes.

The challenge is

Baby Girl Mini Album

Good morning sunshine!
(I'm scheduling this post so I hope it's sunny out there when it goes live)

How are you all?

I'm doing pretty good!

I have a mini album to show you today!
Love doing baby girl mini albums...
so pink and cutesy (just like little baby girls)!

Here it is.....

I used a couple of papers from
Graphic 45's  Once upon a Springtime collection.

I love using the alpha beads and wire when I am making one of these albums!

I chose to go with large book rings with this book because I may have gotten carried away with the amount of pages I put in here!
Room for more pictures is always good right?

A close up of the flower cluster below.....

not sure if you can see it but I did glitter the large printed flower.

Below is the inside of the front cover.....

I did a lot of fussy cutting for this album

Each page is an envelope/pocket.
You can see,
in the next photo,
that I used a fussy cut piece to keep the flap closed.
I put it on a brad so it will be able to spin for easy opening.

Inside the pockets I added a little folder I made for photos.

That's it!
I would show more but I'm not sure if
Mom & Dad will see this mini before this post goes live
and I don't want to spoil the whole surprise!

Have a great week!

Please feel free to leave a comment
I love hearing from everyone!

Halloween card.....

Good morning ladies and gents!

I am playing with

Can't help myself,
they are so cute and there are so many on one sheet!

Here is the card I made.....

I used a swirl mask and some perfect copper Perfect Pearls Mist on a piece of black cardstock for the background.

Added a scrap of lace on top of my tag and pompom trim to the back side as well!

The witches hat was a die cut from my Cameo
I added some of Martha Stewarts onyx glitter.

Not sure how well you can see it but I added some rock candy distress crackle to the ticket.

The ticket, tag and hat were all added with pop dots

I also added a couple of CANDi's for a bright pop.

Easy Peasy!

Here's a look at the collage sets I used

The tickets.....

The tag.....

My Artistic Adventures Spooky Challenge

Good morning everyone!

My BOLB
(Best OnLine Buddy),
Heather,
woke me up yesterday,
to tell me it was time to get going with some challenges and we'd be live today!

Nothing like a last minute challenge to get your juices flowing!

So,
first of all,
Heather has set up a separate blog just for challenges, this year, at
My Artistic Adventures!

YAY

That first challenge starts now.....

Halloween is getting close so off we go.....

lets get into some fun with our
Spooky Halloween challenge!

Make any project...
card, tag, atc, layout, altered item, etc...
You must use one or more items from
My Artistic Adventure Etsy.

For more challenge info go to My Artistic Adventures

When I saw the tickets Heather had for us to work with I knew I wanted to make a tag!

A large tag!
(5 1/8 x 10 1/2)

I mixed some gel with black paint and used a mask to add it randomly on the tag,
added some black soot and rusty hinge distress inks.

I distressed a few of the lower layers
(bingo card and checked tag)

Below you can see a few of the tickets,
I made a little banner with them using some Halloween twine.

Keeping my pop dot addiction going I used them randomly.
I used black soot distress ink on all the images, diecuts, etc...

I added stickles on the little pumpkin clowns buttons & hat,
I also added some to the Boo die cut.

And because I couldn't do just one piece.....

I made a couple of pillow boxes!

I used Martha Stewart glitters on these...love that sparkle!

The digi sets I used from are.....

I hope you join us for this Spooky Halloween challenge!

The one really important rule is to use one or more of the digi images at

Make anything...
card, tag, box, mixed media, atc, layout, etc...

Over on the challenge blog there is a blog badge we would love you to add to your blog!

Happy crafting!
Have fun!

Spooky tag

Good morning friends!

I want to show you my Spooky Gecko Galz DT project today.

I am loving the Coven paper pack &
the Haunted Ephemera collage sheets this month at Gecko Galz!
The background is one of the papers from the paper pk
and all the images are from the collage sheets!

The mini "EEEEk" tag I made myself with an acrylic stamp and some black soot distress ink.

The cheese cloth was sprayed with crushed grape Dylusions Ink spray.

I found myself in a distressing kind of mood
and what better time for that to happen...
Halloween!

I distressed the edges of the tag and some of the ephemera with my Prima distressing tool.

Then I decided that I wanted to play with water so I took a couple of the images and sprayed them and gave them a bit of scrunching so they would have that aged, worn look.
When I had the look I wanted I dried them with my heat gun.

I added a bit of black soot distress ink to all my pieces.

I layered all my elements starting with the cheese cloth.

I used the flower spray & seam binding for my pop of color.

I finished off my tag with the little web in the top left corner and the bling trim on the bottom left.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Crafting!

Mixed media wall hanging

Good morning everyone!

The other day I watched a video by
Limor Webber,
that she did for Prima on Ustream.

She altered a cigar box lid.

She did a couple of techniques I hadn't done before so I wanted to try them!

That,
and I was determined to do some layering in a way that I usually don't do!
I have so much trouble covering up lower levels!

I started with a cigar lid,
painted it with gesso,
and then
covered it with a piece of paper from Prima's Romantique collection.

From there I used inks, sprays, alcohol inks,
modeling paste, heavy gel,
more gesso, black paint, antique mod podge,
several masks and a variety of stamps.

I don't remember using so much on one project.....
what fun I had!

Then came the layering
(covering up of everything I had just done...
the hard part for me)!

Starting with the tag that I made with a piece of an old folder.
I painted it with a gel paint, inked it, then stamped it.
I also added a bit of modeling paste to the top.

I didn't hide as much of my tag as Limor did hers
but I think I did pretty good layering more than I usually do!

Below are a few close ups of the texture I added
and the goodies I layered on top!

Love that cute little owl!

Also like the look of the light bulb with alcohol ink dripped on the back.

The butterfly has been sitting on my desk for a while now.....
I smudged one wing when I glossy accented it a while back!
And that would be the reason I tucked it under the folded flower!

Don't you love it when hiding a flaw works out so well?

I used pop dots on the tag,
can't do anything without them!

Below is the hanger I made for it.....

Thanks for stopping by!

Please feel free to leave a comment,
I would love to hear from you!

Have a great weekend!

Baby girl mini album

Good morning everyone!

Summers over here in my house so back to crafting it is!

This is one of the two baby girl mini albums I've been working on lately.....

I started with an old paper pk,
Paper Doll from K&Company,
that has been sitting on my shelf for a few years now.

I added some flocked rub-ons to the cover.

I bent the wire and added the beads for the baby's name.

The butterfly is from Prima.

The flower spray is from Prima also.....

I added a few flower punches that I put together using the paper scraps
and a couple I-rock gems.

Below are a few of the inside pages.....

The paper pad was a die-cut paper pad,
so I used it to make my pages all different shapes,
with different folds and pockets.

The baby onesie care above
and the diaper below are diecut with my Cameo.

I've added laces, trims twine and flowers throughout the mini.

Every page has a pocket so Mom can add as many pictures of her cutie pie little girl as she wants!

Gecko Galz Cross Promotion

Good morning everyone!

This month over at Gecko Galz we are doing our
Cross Promotion with

I don't know if I've ever been a Halloweeny kinda girl,
maybe when I was younger and wanted the candy!
That thrill ended somewhere along the line.
Maybe those it was those pesky teenage years that gave it the fizzle for me...
but lately
(over the last couple of years)
I've really enjoyed making little things like these goodie bags!

Maybe it's the cute images I find at Gecko Galz
or maybe it's my cutie pie grandkids!
Quite possibly...
or most definitely...
 a combination of both!

Look at those images!

From Gecko Galz,
I used the Coven paper pkg for the background paper
and the Haunted Ephemera collage sheet for
the witchy jars, on the outside of my goodie bag
and
the tag I have tucked inside the bag (you can see that below).

 From Rhonda's Originals,
The Moon bat & stars on the outside of the bag
and
the moon face on the tag.

I used a bit of black soot & vintage photo distress inks here and there,
diamond stickles to give the faces, stars and the borders some sparkle
and my trusty pop dots for layering my pieces.

The Halloween twine
(Really Reasonable Ribbon)
was formed into a bow with my Bow-it-All.

The trim pieces are a couple of scraps from my stash.
Going to do my best this year to shrink that scrap stash!
Wish me luck!

Hope you all have a great September!
Happy Crafting!

Creative Blog Hop

Good morning everyone!

I was invited to join this blog hop by Laurie
Laurie wrote a little bit about me on her blog so I hope you will hop over and take a look...
not only to see what she wrote about me but to find out more about her!

I joined Laurie's Facebook challenge group last year.
You can find it HERE
One of the goals is to help you use up some of those old unused embellishments that we've all been hoarding.
Anything that helps us get rid of some of our hoard is a good thing, right?

Laurie is a very creative person...
beautiful layouts, tags, cards and a whole host of altered items...
Always a thing of beauty no matter what she's doing!

What am I working on?

I am on two design teams

I took a bit of a break this summer to enjoy some extra time with my family and the sunshine
now I'm ready to get back to work!

Along with my DT projects I am also working on a couple of baby mini albums,
for a couple of cute little girls who entered the world in the past few months!

And soon I'll be starting my Christmas cards....
we all know how fast that sneaks up on us every year!

What is my style?

Although I've tried to venture into another styles my projects always seem to end up
mostly vintage and occasionally shabby chic!
Can't fight it!
I love it!

Why do I create what I do?

I started creating scrapbook pages to make up for the baby book I did not write up for my 3rd child.
That evolved into scrapbooking for all three kids,
then my life and
then as much of the family history as I could figure out.
From there I started making cards...
found the crafty online community and life has not been the same...
scrapbook pages, cards, tags, atc's, mini albums
as well as
altered canvas's, boxes, bottles & everything else I can get my hands on!

Creating is an amazing thing!

It brings happiness to everyone!

What a joy it is to give a piece that you have created and see it bring a smile to someone else's heart!

How does my creative process work?

I generally start with an idea,
whether it's a mini album or a card, etc...
then I'll look for some paper that will match the color scheme I want to work with.
From there I let the creative process fly!
I rarely have a plan because when I do, I usually fall off plan anyway!
LOL
Creating comes easier to me when I don't over think it.

I find inspiration in other's work, on Pinterest, through blog hopping, antique shops, magazines or simply the next holiday!

*****
Okay,
here is where I am suppose to say something like...
"I want to introduce you to three people who inspire me"

however.....

I only have one such person to share with you.

It's not that I'm not inspired by anyone else....
I am!
I have quite a list of friends who inspire me
and with whom I've asked to join this hop!

It's more of a timing issue for everyone!

With summer quickly winding down,
everyone is doing their best to squeeze as much outdoor/summer fun in that they can, before it is over...
vacations & families are still being enjoyed!

Others are busy scrambling around getting their kids ready for the new school year to begin
as well as
getting themselves back into working or crafting after the summer break!

So,

as I said previously,
 I do have one person,
 who inspires me,
to share with you and I'm sure she will inspire you too!

Her name is
 Heather Hudson
my BOLB
(Best OnLine Buddy)

Heather's inspiration is all over the place!
The crafty pieces she creates
(cards, tags, atc's or altered items... just to name a few)
are always a joy to see!
She has a beautiful, creative eye, for putting things in the right places!
I love the way she layers her pieces!

She's also a wiz with digital creations!
She can take a couple simple images, put them together and make one beautiful image!
She amazes me with how brilliantly she can put two,
 or more,
images together!
She taught me how to do image manipulation but I don't think I'll ever have the eye she has!

And that's not the end of her creativity...
she can paint too!
I absolutely LOVE her roses!

When you hop over to her blog...

and I really hope you do.....

I really think you should.....

check out her blog background...

she designed that too!
She changes it from time to time,
for the different holidays or seasons!

There's no end to her creativity!

Heather has been my BOLB for several years now...
she not only shares her creativity with me but also her time, laughter & friendship!

To see Heather's work, on her blog, go HERE.
To see her etsy store,
where she shares her wonderful digital creations with everyone, go HERE
She also has a great collection of video she shares HERE
