UGH/YAY

I FINALLY GOT IT!

My family has been passing around a nasty sore throat and cold.
Silly me I thought I had escaped it!
Everyone is finally finishing up with it
and me...
it's just beginning!

UGH!!!

The plan for the day was to get in the car and drive an hour to go visit my dogs, give them some treats and a chance to run outside.
Waking up feeling sick made me give that plan a second thought.

I did decided to go...
before I felt any worse.

So I let them out, to get they're run.
I let them jump all over me.
I gave them a couple of hotdogs.
I gave them a couple of doggie treats.
Another run outside
and
time for me to get back home.

Before leaving town I stopped in to check the mail...

YAY!!!

There were two pkgs for me!

First is my RAK from
I got this for winning the
over at
Bella Creations!

Look at all those goodies!
A stamp, flowers, rub-ons,  buttons and pearls
and...
my very first Graphics 45 paper pack!
I am so excited!
I can't wait to make something with that!

And who doesn't love Tim Holtz Distress Inks!
I've had plans to visit a lss, next week, to buy some of them so this was perfect timing, especially when you figure in the fact that the one I was definitely planning on getting is the Weathered Wood!
Yay, now I can get another color!

I am going to have so much fun with these goodies!

So.....

If you like what you see then hurry on over to
and play with us there!
Maybe you can win a goodie stash like this one too!

Now on to my other yummy package...

Look at this...
I was so excited when I won this from Heidi over at

My brand new bookmark!
I loved the look in the picture but oh so excited when I saw it in person.

I LOVE IT!

It is so pretty!
The image is great, I love the color of the eggs!

I am a new fan of this ribbon she used too.
I know what it's called but for the life of me I can't think of the name!
With or without the name, I want some now! lol

And she is so sweet she even added a few other little goodies in the pack she mailed out to me.
The lace is pretty, buttons (always great) and those diecuts are wonderful!
Love that little card too!

THANK YOU, HEIDI!

For those of you who haven't visited Heidi yet I think you should!
She has a lot of vintage goodies to look at over at her place!

Even her music is vintage!
Heehee, I am listening to it as I type!
It's bringing me back to my childhood dinner times when tv and radio's were suppose to be turned off.
I found a way around that was to set the radio station to play music, like this, that mom and dad liked!
I liked it too!!!
Mom was always pleased!

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you all have a great, sunny & safe day!

Here's a couple of cards I made today using the sketches for the NSD2011#10 challenge over at

As most of you know all of my scrappy tools are in storage so I got out my trusty rolling pin and used it on my CuttleBug embossing tray again...
I got the butterflies from scrapworld.
I know I've seen them somewhere else too but for the life of me I can't think of where right now.

The patterned paper on both of these is from the K&Company Watercolor Bouquet collection.
The butterfly on this one is from the same collection.
A lot of liquid pearls here!
I may have gone overboard! lol

Thanks for stopping by!

Cards...

I have been doing a lot of cards lately.
Here are my last two...
This one is entered in the
May Challenge.
We used the colors teal, peach & brown.
We also had sketch to go off of.

I used two pieces of double sided patterned paper for this.
The flowers are fussy cut from the same paper.
I added a bit of teal glitter glue and painted some glossy accents on them.

This one is entered into the
May challenge.
She also had a sketch for us to use.
We also had to use the colors turquoise, green and cream.
We also had to add a charm.

I stitched the swirls free hand.
The cream flower is a new one I made last night.

I also entered this card in the
April Showers Bring May Flowers
challenge over at
ABC DT Challenge.

Thanks for looking.
Hope you're having a great weekend.

More Jingle Bella's May Rosette's Challenge

I made this today...

Since I am not sure if I will be hanging it on the wall or on the tree I decided to decorate the back too!

I took glitter glue and used my finger to dab it all over the back.
The pictures don't show just how sparkly they are.

Thanks for looking!
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Christmas card challenge

My entry for the
over at

The challenge was to make 3 cards and use blue, stitching & buttons.
I have to admit I forgot about the buttons and had to add them last minute. LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

Monochromatic

While blog hopping this morning I was inspired.

Over at
the challenge was to create a card or project in a monochromatic color palette. You can use any one color with any neutrals (black, tan, white, cream) in your design.

I chose the color yellow because it is a color I don't usually use.
Here is the card I made...

Isn't inspiration great!

I used K&Company Watercolor Bouquet paper pack
Martha Stewart punch around the page
Buttercup Liquid Pearls
and
Recollections mulberry mini roses.

Mini mini

I am still feeling like I have low levels of mojo but I did manage to work on this mini yesterday.
I started it last week and had to put it aside because I didn't know what I wanted to do with it other than use these Watercolor Bouquet papers from K&Company.
The mini is slightly smaller than 4x4 which made it a bit challenging.

The other night I decided to use a bunch of frames I found on Graphic Fairies.
Love these frames.
I inked them, leaving the centers light enough for either an image to be added or some journaling.

The frame on the front was my first attempt at painting flowers on anything.
The leaf pins are a gift from my Bella friend Heather.

A close up of the painted frame.
The first pages...
I'll be adding the page with the two ladies in the Bella Muse Challenge over at Bella Creations.

A tag or photo can be added behind the lace/ribbon on these pages.

There is a pocket behind the vase of flowers to add a tag or photo.
I painted this frame with distress inks and q-tips.

Thanks for looking!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

My first altered box!

This is the first box I've altered.
I've put it off for a while.
The fear of the unknown I guess. lol

I made the brown organza flowers.
They don't photograph well but they are pretty.

I do have to change the bottom.
I don't like how bright the green is on it.

Thanks for looking.

Jingle Bella's May Rosette's Challenge

The challenge this month was to make 6 rosettes.
They could be anything as long as they were rosettes...embellishment for a package or bag, decor for tree or wall, etc...
The first three I made right away and posted them in the
Bella Creations
Jingle Bella's Group.
Last night I went in there to check out the other posts and there was a comment from a Bella friend (Heather) telling me she hadn't seen them on my blog...OOPS!
So this morning I finished off the last three I needed to do and here I am posting.

The first one I used 6 inch wide patterned paper for the bottom rosette then then worked my way down to 1 inch wide, decreasing by an inch each layer.
Added a pin with a couple of gems to the center and some glitter to the edges.
It's a little early but right now it is hanging on my wall.

The next two are a couple of bows I made to top gifts..

I distressed the edges and added a gem to the center.

The last three are the ones I did today.
They are also going to be added on top gifts.

I added a bit of tulle and a rose to the tops.

I may end up doing a couple more because I have a few more ideas rolling around in my head right now.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi all!

Hi everyone!
I have been in hiding a little bit lately.
Hadn't felt that scrappy feeling for a while.
Really driving me crazy having all my scrappy supplies buried in that shed!
Feeling a little better today, did a little organizing of my little scrappy pile I have here and that may have helped.
I went to Michael's yesterday and they gave me a free tote because I bought some liquid pearls (scrappy supply) during National Scrapbooking Month.
It was perfect to organize what I needed to organize.
 _______

During my lousy mood I had a couple of cards I needed to make, that I finally finished today.
They are pretty simple but took forever because I just wasn't feeling it.
I actually still have one more to do, the one that I need for my daughters birthday in a couple of days!
Hopefully I can get that one done tomorrow while she is at school!
Go figure the ones I got done aren't needed for a couple of weeks!

Here are the two I got done...

First...

The butterfly was sent to me from my scrappy Bella friend Heather
The white embroidered flower with pearl is one that I made.
The liquid pearls (silver) & enamel accents (white), that I used on the front, are my new toys these days. I love the look.

Second...

The flower is another gift from Heather.
The "chocolat" ephemera piece is from Graphic Fairies.
The little lady image is from Magic Moonlight Studio.
The music note image is from Dezinaworld.
I used worn lipstick and wild honey distress inks on all the edges.
Also added a few drops of enamel accents.
_______

This next project is a sad one.
My sister lost her dog last week.
Sheba was 14 yrs old.
She lived a happy life and will be missed.
She is now in heaven keeping mom & dad company and playing with all the other puppies frolicking up there.

I gave her a dog house...

The big flower is.....

another gift from Heather! lol
I added the little pearl piece in the center.
The crochet bit is a piece of crochet ribbon I added to the bottom of one flower.
The butterfly is from Graphic Fairies. I mounted it on a piece of chipboard, fussy cut it, then added a layer of clear rock candy distress crackle paint and some tea dye distress ink.
The whole thing was done on a piece of foam core board, the bottom bit painted and stamped and the top is a piece of patterned paper that has day lilies on it (the flowers my sister planted on Sheba's grave).

Thanks for looking!
