Pretty in Pink

My sore shoulder is being kind to me today, which is really nice since my dear daughter was kind enough to share the cold she had last week and now I have no voice and one heck of an aching body!
UGH!

A couple of nights ago,
when I was feeling a bit better,
I decided to make this card for the challenge over at
Sugar Creek Hollow...

The little beauty is from the Monday's Child collection
Also from Gecko Galz is the piece I mounted her on, from the
Versailles Paper collection

I used a piece of coredinations paper for the background that I ran through my Cuttlebug with the Script embossing folder.
Then I sanded it a bit to enhance the embossing.

(I would show you a close up of the embossing but my camera has decided to make picture taking a bit tricky for me. The screen has gone white so I can no longer see what I my pictures look like until I upload them, so close ups are pretty impossible...big blurs!)

I inked the edges of the image and background papers with worn lipstick distress ink.

A little pink taffy glitter mist on a couple pieces of lace from my stash.
One tucked under the torn edge and another under the photo.

I added a string of pink flat back pearls that my wonderful friend Heather sent me.

And lastly...a few flowers from my stash.

I added the Happy Thanksgiving & leafy swirl stamps
and
inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink.
The bling mesh is from Pro31
and the twine is from my stash.

Halloween mini album

This is a simple little mini album I put together using

The pages are all pockets.
I binded them together with my Bind it All.
The orange lace and check pieces of fabric are from my stash.

I love these papers so I didn't want to do much to them.
The bling mesh is from Pro31.

Above are the tags!
I love that the labels hang out over the pages when they are in the pockets.

Below is the back page.

Scarecrow Tag

Once I saw this scarecrow I had to make something with it!
I chose to make a tag...

This cute little scarecrow is from
Gecko Galz Autumn Days collage sheet!
Don't you just love him?

I did the background with rusty hinge, wild honey, faded jeans and walnut stain distress inks.
I topped that with a little dazzling diamonds glitter mist.

Topped it all with a bit of burlap from my stash, then pop dotted the scarecrow,
that I cut with my Cameo, on top.

For a little dimension I added some silver liquid pearls to his shoe laces,
cocoa liquid pearls to the pumpkin and
bisque liquid pearls to his straw hair and neck.

The bling spray under the pumpkin is from Pro31.

The gem above his head is from my stash as well as the seam binding bow.

On an unrelated note...
My shoulder is giving me a LOT of pain these days so I plan on being AWOL from blogging for a little while.
Think I spend too much time on the computer & I need to give it a rest.
Planning on lounging around...maybe catch up on some reading.
See you all soon!

From Tim's 12 tags of 2012...

to Simon Says Stamp's

I took inspiration from both of Tim's tags and made another birthday card for another one of my brothers.

I used broken china, weathered wood & vintage photo distress stains for the background.
I don't have the metalic stains so I used a bit of dazzling diamonds Glimmer Mist in there too!
I added peeled paint, vintage photo and black soot distress inks.

The black stamping is done with Archival ink
and the rest was done with walnut stain distress ink.

The ribbon was from my stash, I added a little bit of vintage photo distress ink to that.

12 tags of 2012 - September

I'm loving this one!

Here is my take on Tim's tag this month!

With my brother's birthday coming at the end of the month I decided to mount it on a card for him.

I used Karen Foster Metals assorted sticky back metal sheets for the background.
I love the variety of colors!
I added a bit of slate alcohol ink to it which removed some of the color from the metal sheets.
I liked the look of that but then I grabbed a piece of one of my SOS pads, rinsed out the soap & sanded all over...
love it!

I used Tim's technique to make the holes & rivet marks on the seams,
then I used the ridged edge of my hole poking tool  for the rest of the seams.

The clock piece I made with a piece of grunge board, a stamp and some crackle accents.

The birthday wishes piece was cut with my Cameo and stamped.

A couple of brads, Timmy gears, Recollections craft tape, ribbon
and it's done!

This is one of my favorite masculine pieces!
