My Life, My Love, My Heart, My Children

While I was making the fishing mini for my niece I decided to make one for her mother also.

This one not only has the son she just recently lost in it
but all of her children.

I still have some tags I need to make but, just like the one I did for her daughter, I will be giving her plenty of tags for journaling and room for her to add more photos.

I did a lot of fussy cutting on this one.
I love the floral and swirl flocking so I had to cut and use as much as I could.

I put this piece, that I cut, on the inside of the front cover, for a pocket, forgetting that I already would have the tag pocket there from the bag end.

OOPS!

This one is a pocket for tags to come.

And the back of the book...
The flocked piece there is just because it was too pretty not to use it.
It's not functional.

The frame I used on the front cover is from
so I am linking this up to

Ya gotta love Karen for sharing all her beautiful images with us.
She has a great variety!
Hop on over for yourself and see!
I am sure she would love the visit!

I edited the frame to add the journaling/title, using GIMP

I also added some broken china, faded jeans and vintage photo distress inks around the outside then added some embossing powder.

For those who don't know what GIMP is, it is a free online editing program that my bestie bella friend over at Bella Creations is teaching us.

Heather has a group over there,
where she is teaching all of us to do some cool editing!
So if you are up for some fun come on over and join us!

Thanks for the visit!

Have a great week everyone!

I'd rather be fishing...

Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Some of you know that I just recently lost my nephew.

Unfortunately I was unable to go to the services/memorials so this is what I did instead...
Since he and his younger sister spent a lot of time fishing together and she will be missing him terribly now,  I wanted to do something special for her.

This mini is filled with all the fishing pictures of them together, that I was able to snag off of her facebook page.

I love this picture of her in her casting stance.
She is not messing around! LOL

I left her a bunch of tags so she could write little notes or stories about their times together and maybe add a photo or two.

I haven't decided yet what I will do with the last page but here is a look at that..

I am linking this post to the Graphics Fairies

I used the
Salt and Fresh Water Fish
image from Karens collection.
I added some vintage photo distress ink and Crackle accents to age it.

To see more of Karen's wonderful images hop on over to
and enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great week!

Heartache

Sympathy cards have always been one of my least favorite things to create for obvious reasons.

Today is no exception.

I made two...

One for the mother who just recently lost her son.

And the second for the sister who lost her brother.

This young man of 25 yrs old was my nephew.

His mother and I shared this pregnancy.
She had a son and I had a daughter.

I can only imagine the pain she is going through with the loss of her first born.

I am having a hard time knowing he is gone.

I haven't seen much of him over the past 10 yrs, since my divorce from his uncle, but he and his family have remained dear in my heart.

He was a happy, smiling little boy and from the pictures I've seen on his and his sisters facebook pages that smile was still there in his young adulthood.
He had a love for fishing that his father handed down to, not only him but, all of his kids.
He and his sister often took time to go fishing together.

My heart is saddened by the lost of such a promising young man but my heart is also breaking for his younger sister who will be missing her big brother and his mother who lost her baby boy.

They will never see that smile, never feel a hug with his arms, never share a laugh, never be able to tease him for only catching that little sunny when his sister caught the big one, he will never be married, never have kids of his own.

Through my sorrow I look at my children and thank God that they are who they are and that I still have time to share with them.

It reminds me that time is short, so you need to make the most of the time you have.

Enjoy your family!

Have the best life you can!

Always let the ones you love know you love them with every breathe you take!

Smile and live with Love!

Time flies

I made this easel card to enter into a couple of challenges.

Using the Bo Bunny Timepieces Collection again.

Also used Recollections Clear Stamps
and
Liquid Pearls Platinum Pearl.

I added a little Crackle accents on the stamped images.

Lastly I used a bit of Vintage Photo distress inks for the stamping and distressing.

I'll be entering this card over at Let's Scrap

I'm using this weeks sketch and loving it.
I may have to make a couple more cards with this sketch.

I am also entering this over at Simon Says Stamp in the
Lets Play Bingo challenge.

I'm using the bottom line of the bingo grid that says I should use
a shape, ribbon & sentiment.

This will be my first time entering over at
Simon Says Stamp.
Wish me luck!

 Hugs!

Busy bee

I am busy as a bee today, trying to get as much done as I can because my grandson will be here tonight and for the rest of the week.

Don't get much done when he is here.
Playing "cars" is more important than anything else!

And speaking of the grandson, I made this card today so he can give it to his daddy for Father's Day.

I used the teepee shaped card that Shawn over at
Bella Creations did for a graduation card.

I used images from Graphics Fairy.

The paper is from the Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection.

Shawn chose to sew a couple of pieces of ribbon on hers teepee card to close it.
I went with the ribbon also but I broke out the big bite and punched a hole to thread the ribbon through and tied it up that way.
You can use magnets, Velcro or ribbon.
I am sure there are many other creative ways too!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Happy Wednesday!

What a week!

Grandkids and a birthday party make one busy and tired Grammy!

My week was filled with party errands.
My grandson's beach birthday party, on Saturday.
Thankfully the rain, that was suppose to start the same time the party did, held off until the party was over.

A good time was had by all!

We had my grand daughter as well as my grandson here for the weekend.
My grand daughter was having too much fun at Grammy's to go home after the party so she stayed another night.

When Monday rolled around I thought I would be able to relax but not so much!
I have a tremendous headache right now!

 And why you might ask...

The girl that we gave one of our dogs to in October texted me to tell me that the dog was not feeling well and she wanted to know if I could help her pay to take her to the vet.
To make a long story short...
the dog is mine once again.
She is a little sore but doing fine.

After picking up my little Mopsey Poo and taking care of her I headed for therapy.

This is what I made...

I will be entering this in the June Tres Chic challenge over at

We needed to make something soft and dainty.
The colors creme, soft pink, yellow and pale green.
Elements are a button, feather, cherub, doily(paper or fabric) & flower.

The Dusty Attic piece is my first piece!
It was a gift from my bbff Heather!
I had fun altering it.
I painted it a creamy white and used some alcohol ink (Slate, Meadow & Currant) and pounced them all over.
Then added some Glossy Accents.

The cherub & butterfly was also a gift from Heather.
I put a little glitter glue on her wings.

The feathery flower with button center is one I made.

Don't know if you can really see it but the hand stitching is a pale yellow, it almost blends into the paper (Prima's Botanical Collections "True Words").

I also want to show you the birthday card I made for my grandson!

He loved it!
The characters were a big hit!

Another gift from Heather, the tags were white I inked them with Crushed Olive and Pine Needles Distress inks and added the Happy Birthday stamp.

My number stamps are in storage so I improvised with the 3, using a tiny little flower stamp.

And a little hand stitching to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.

Keeping my fingers crossed that tomorrow is a nice quiet day!

Have a great week everyone!

It's a triple

I'm playing over at
Bella Creations
again!

Helene
over in the
Oh la la Group
gave us this image to use in a project.
We could make a tag, ATC or bookmark using this image
from Gecko Galz...

Here is my entry...

My hub's still hasn't gotten around to getting the ink for his printer so my image printed pink.
I took faded jeans, mustard seed, weathered wood and brushed corduroy distress inks and smeared a couple areas on my mat, then gave them a spritz of some perfect pearls/water mist that I made. I used a tiny brush and painted my car.
I colored the bumper, grill and hubcaps with a silver ink pen.
I also used some tea dye & weathered wood distress inks on the letter that is tucked in under the car.

The polka dot paper is from my
Graphic 45 Curtain Call
paper pack that I won.
Sent to me from Flying Unicorn.
Yay, I finally got to use it!

The flower is one that my bbff, Heather, sent to me.
I added the pearl.

I added a bit of black glitter glue to the edges of the tag, a piece of lace ribbon and my $1 find from Michael's - the three stud embellies.

It's a tag!

Continuing on...

Now Shawn's challenge,
in her group,
Viola Ink...

Shawn is letting us use the same image from Helene's challenge but she want's anything but  a tag!
I think we all went a little tag happy last month so she is giving us a little tag-less nudge!

I have to admit though tags are an easy go-to for me.
Without all my stash, nor the room to put all my work, tags, cards, bookmarks, etc are easier for me to store than the layouts and mini's I wish I could be putting together right now.

Now the group is called Viola Ink so you know we have to ink our projects.
She also gave us the option of adding a little masking for an additional entry into the challenge.

My entry...

Using the tag that I already made for the Oh la la challenge I added a longer piece of metallic cardstock, from DCWV, now making it a bookmark!

I used a piece of the lace ribbon for some masking on the metallic piece, using some black soot distress ink.

Yay, Pretty bookmark!

Here we go again...

Starr
over at
the Cartes Classiques Group
also said we could use the same image Helene gave us.
As per the name of the group it is to be a card!

Sooo...

Yup, I took my tag,
that I made into a bookmark,
and
added it to a card!

What else would I do with it! LOL

Here it is...

With a piece of black cardstock and another piece of my G45 polka dot paper, I have a card.
I put a couple of slits in the bottom of the polka dot paper to slide the bookmark into.
To hold the top of the bookmark down on the card I added a couple larger stud embellies.

Ta-da!

Ah, but I'm not done yet!

Starr said she was also thinking of an additional challenge with
"I'm thinking of you"
as a theme.

Here it comes...

When the recipient of my card
that was a bookmark
that was a tag
removes the bookmark
they will see this...

I added a piece of Recollections Elegance cardstock.
Added a "Thinking of you" stamp from
Wishes All Around by Fiskars.

Finished it off with glitter glue to the edges.

Here is a look of the whole collection...

Oops!
Guess that makes it a quadruple!

This was fun!
No one said these had to work together like this but I just couldn't resist the challenge!
Heehee, I guess that was my part in the challenge.

Thanks for strolling through
Hope you have a great week!
