Craftless

Not feeling very crafty these days but that's ok, right now, since my grandson is here. Not much time for crafting with Little Mr Energy around. He took my hand weights away from me yesterday when I was trying to exercise so today I did my upper body weight training in the privacy of my closed room then used him as my weight to work out my lower body. He had a blast, he did some hysterical laughing. It actually reached 42 degrees today so we also had the chance to go for a little walk which was nice since the weather is too darn cold these days.

Hub's got a promising phone call last night about a job out in Washington State. He is waiting for the return call now. This is from someone who he has talked to before so it's very promising. We like the west coast which is a plus but we'll be further up north which means cooler weather. At the end of the day though, a better job trumps anything on the con list. Fingers are crossed, but not holding my breath. Expecting nothing, hoping for the best.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
My grandson will be here until Wednesday, hopefully I'll get that crafty feeling back then.

Altered Notebook

This is a notebook I altered for the challenge in group l'art a transformé at Bella Creations. We could alter anything, use some sort of paint, a metal element and something 3D. I had been wanting to alter a small notebook to chart my asthma, breathing readings. Now I have one. The images I used are from Magic Moonlight Studio.

I painted the patterned paper on one side, a bit of dry brushing, then I inked with Distress Inks-wild honey, worn lipstick & tea dye. I used the same Distress Inks on the images. My 3D element is the metal bit.
I haven't stitched anything on my projects in a long time, I love how this came out.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's a card make'n day

I made these three cards, today, for a few challenges over at Bella Creations

Even though I like the way they came out I can't wait until I can get a hold of all my scrappy goodies. It is really driving me crazy not having my supplies on hand. It took forever today just to do these 3 cards because of knowing what I had & wanted to use and what I actually could get to, to use.

The Nuances De Couleur March Challenge

We had to use the colors orange, brown, green, and yellow. You can't really tell in the picture but there is yellow on the patterned paper I used to stamp the clock on. We also had to pop dot an element (the clock bits) and use a stamp.
A masculine card
Oh by the way, pop dots are one of those thing I don't have access to here so what I did for this and the next card was to layer several bits of scrap paper.

The March Tres Chic Challenge

We had to use the colors navy blue, khaki, and white to make a vintage style project. We also needed to use a vintage image, a ticket and a metal piece.
I made the flower for the card, with all the colors of the challenge.
This one may go to my sister in law who just got out of the hospital.

And last but not least...

The March Bella Muse Challenge

This one was anything we wanted to do as long as we used the image our La Reine des Lacee chose. Isn't it a cute image?
I think this one took the longest and it looks, to me, to be the simplest.

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope everyone has been having a
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Baby sitting 2

Looks like repainting is the plan.
White toothpaste and a toothbrush does remove dry erase marker, however, it also removes the paint.
Alcohol also removes the toothpaste and with faster results, unfortunately it also removed the paint.
My son says he has the paint so instead of trying anything else we will repaint.
My grandson is going to his mom's house tonight so I will probably paint tomorrow, giving him a fresh clean wall when he is back.

I am hoping to get some scrapping done tomorrow too.
On the other hand its my hub's day off so we'll see, he may have other plans.

Happy Scrappy Dayz to you!

Baby sitting

Have done no crafting at all these past few days.
A dear online friend lost her husband suddenly a few days ago and I am watching my dear grandson while his mom is away for a few days and dad (my son) is at work.

Depressed about my friends loss, wish I could be there for her. So glad she has family and friends close by, to be there with her.

My grandson is 2 1/2 and a handful. We have been playing with his cars and trucks ALOT! Definitely his favorite thing to do. He also likes running between me and his auntie, when she is home from school, and scaring us using a dragon toy. Today however he found something else to play with and unfortunately Grammy's eyes were turned in the other direction.

Dry erase marker.

Says it all doesn't it?

He colored the kitchen table, the counter, the wall (flat paint), and his legs, arms, & belly, as well as a few other odds and ends.

The table cleaned up nicely. The counter cleaned up nicely. The odds and ends cleaned up nicely too.
His body parts, however, now have faded lines and dots all over the place. I think tubby time will take care of that though.

The wall, unfortunately, did not fair that well. Been online and I will be trying some of the things I found, to try to remove it.
Wish me luck.

I made these the other day while sitting watching tv.

Thanks for looking!
Have a great day!

Creating from the heart give-away

I just entered for a give-away over at Creating from the Heart, for a new Brother CP-7500 Computerized Sewing Machine and a couple of goodies to go with it. Run over and take a look here. And good luck!

No luck so far

Well I am not happy to say that I have yet to find anyone to help yet with the dogs. Friends and family can not take them for us. I am waiting for the rescue shelters to get back to me. Unfortunately it is taking too long. The girl watching them has to get them out of there and we can't bring them here. Hub's has been no help because all he is concerned with is keeping his dog although he knows that if we can only keep one it will be my daughters dog. The reason we got the dogs in the first place were for my daughter but they all seemed to end up being my hub's dogs until we had Oreo. Oreo and my daughter have bonded big time, they are good together and would hate to lose that for her.
Here's a couple of pics of them.
Sebastian-son, Max-dad & Oreo-daughter
A little scruffy, but cute.
The last pic surprises me because Sebastian looks like he is unimpressed with whatever the other two are looking at out the window, he usually joins in ready to bark.
Hoping for good news soon but not holding my breath. Don't know what else to do.

My first ATC

So much for not doing anything crafty for a while! With everything going on I needed the therapy so off to the stores I went!
A little paper, some glue, some holiday buttons, a few pearls & other goodies and I am happy. lol
I did this for an Oh La La challenge at Bella Creations. We had to use the striped background print and the image, the rest was up to us as long as it was ATC size.

I think I did pretty good for my first ATC, though the picture doesn't look as good as the real thing.
I have to say, being without all my supplies is difficult but, I am really challenging my creativity now. I could only buy so much at the store so I will have to have my thinking cap on tight to come up with some of the things I would like to create.

No news on the job or dog front as of yet. I am really hoping that someone could at the very least watch Oreo for my daughter. She will be so upset if she has to lose her.

Scrappy Dayz everyone!
Hugs!

UGH!

Could it get any worse? Looks like we are going to have to get rid of our dogs! The girl that we have taking care of them now is having a really bad time with them due to her allergies and can't keep them. We are having a tough time finding anyone else that will watch them. May have to take them to the pound. We will definitely miss them all, though, I can deal with losing the boys, that is if I had to, but my daughter is really attached to her little girl and I will hate to have to get rid of her. They are so good together.

Hope everyone is having better days in their neck of the woods!
