Dino Valentines Day Card #3

Good morning everyone!

Third & final Dino Card

This one is for oldest grandson, big bro!

I did have two dinosaurs left and more hearts but
they were all pink and this little mister is old enough to say
"I don't want pink!" so just in case that would be how he felt I just went with the one dino, the purple heart and a tree,
that I had laying on my desk already die cut and backed with sticky glue.

The dies used are from Die'namics, Lawn Fawn & Sizzix (Tim Holtz)
Chitchat stickers from Tim Holtz
and more scraps from my scrap drawer!

Below is a shot of all three cards!

Valentine's Dino Card

Hello folks!

The other day I went up to the Dollar Tree!
I recently saw a couple of youtube posts,
a few girls got together and challenged each other to spend only $15 dollars at Dollar Tree and create something with their findings.
Thinking this was a great idea I thought I'd try it!
Unfortunately, I didn't find as much to craft with as those ladies did,
mostly because I go sidetracked by all the organizing things I needed more!
I did, however, find a cute set of dinosaur stickers that I had to buy because my youngest grandson LOVES dinosaurs!

Here is the card I made for him.....

I put the stickers on white cardstock then fussy cut around them which gave me the white border.

I used a couple Die'namics & Lawn Fawn dies for the background pieces.

Scrap papers for the background came from my scrap pile/drawer!
Always happy to be able to use some of that up!

Finished off with a couple of chitchat stickers from Tim Holtz.

I think my little guy is gonna love getting this in the mail!

I have a couple more dino cards to share coming soon!
Mister Dinosaur Lover has a big brother & little sister
and since there were enough stickers to go around, why not share!

Mini Calendar Journal

Good morning lovelies!

Yesterday I had the itch to create,
however,
it was a work day for me and I never have time beforehand
due to all the prep I have to do before I leave.

Sooooo.......

since I'm in love with Heather's new
I decided to play with that!

Yep, you read that right, I decided,
with no time to spare,
to play with a journal kit!

Now I believe there are 12 sheets in the kit
and they are made to print out on a standard piece of paper (8.5x11)
and that is what I did with the Journal I made last week.
You can see that one HERE

With my lack of time,
I decided to try it out in a smaller version.

My printer I can print a full sheet (the 8.5x11),
5x7's (which could be 2 on one page)
and 3.5x5's (or 4 per page)

Call me crazy but I decided to go with the smaller prints,
which meant I could print 4 different kit pages at once!

Here it is.....

From these first couple of shots it looks normal size

Front cover above,
my back cover below

back cover without the tags tucked in...

The inside...

And there it is!
Those are my fingers holding back the calendar pages for you to see!

The whole thing fits in the palm of my hand!

Below you can see I used a library pocket and some atc cards with card topper tabs,
as well as a larger tag behind them.

Here's the library pocket with the atc's removed...

Below I made a pocket using a large tag, wrapping it around the bottom of the page

The little notepad/signature that I stitched together
tucks in nicely and can,
not only be removed when I want to write in it,
but I can make another and replace it easy when I've filled the pages!

This little journal will fit nicely into one of the little pockets in my pocketbook so I can have it with me at all times,
ready for that quick note or thought to be jotted down!

*****
I made a video of this kit with this mini journal
as well as the full sized one.
I'll link that below

*****
Below I posted pictures of the full kit!

The pages were shrunk down for posting purposes.
As I said above each sheet (12 altogether) prints nicely on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

And if you are like me, wanting front & back writing pages,
these beauties printed wonderfully lined up with each other!

As you can see below there are pages for writing & for backgrounds, covers, spines,

calendar pages, month labels & number boxes for the dates,
tags, library envelopes, atc cards, card & tag toppers

There are larger tags & smaller tags

And how about those roses, the colors, the distressing.....
super pretty!

So much goodness in one kit!

I hope you'll stop by My Artistic Adventures Etsy and grab a kit for yourself!

Calendar Journal Kit

Good morning folks!

Today I have an exciting share!

Over at My Artistic Adventures,
Heather decided to try her hand at designing a Calendar Journal Kit!

WOOHOO

I've always wanted to do a journal like this but have yet to do it!

I'm going to be using this one to help me get back into writing a bit.
I used to write more, in my teens & early 20's,
but as usual, life got in the way and I stopped.
So I planned, this year, to start back up again.
So much so that I decided to choose a word for the year and,
yes,
 it just happens to be
WRITE!

This journal came at just the right time!
Thanks, Heather!

Enough about all that,
here is how I put this planner together.....

This is probably a weird way to show you the covers but aren't they pretty?
I may have to think about adding a title to the larger space on the front cover.

A couple of shots from the top of the book
I used ribbon for the binding because of the way I put the signatures together,
I wanted the binding to be flexible.
You can see I added a lot of pockets for tags to slide into from the top.

In this kit, there are journaling pages,
calendar pages, month tabs & date boxes to add to the calendars,
tags, ATC's, library pockets,
tab's for the tops of your tags or sides of your pages,
background papers and the front & back cover pages!
Phew...that's a lot!

Here is a shot of the beautiful papers I will be doing all my writing on!
Eeeeee, they're so pretty, I can't wait!

I printed the papers, that I'll be writing on and the calendar pages, on regular copy paper
the rest was printed on cardstock so that it would be sturdier to put together and hold well.

***edit......When I printed these papers I did front & backs and, YAY, they lined up beautifully! ***

Below is a shot of the stitching of my signatures.
(hope you can see it, the thread matches the pages pretty well)

Once I had all my signatures sewed together
(I made 4),
I used score tape to put them all together leaving an opening on the tops to add tags.

Now all did not go smoothly in making this journal!
My printer was being very temperamental!!!
It would print almost full sheets,
half sheets,
almost half sheets!
SIGH!

In my attempts not to waste the failed prints, I did things like make this little pocket below...

and this page below I used a die to cut the edges to make pockets

Below is another die cut pocket thanks to a somewhat failed print.

This page opens for another journaling spot,

and another tag pocket!

Here, below, is one of the calendar pages.
The little heart was die cut out of scraps (failed print)
A heart because that is my anniversary!

I decided to add a tree to Christmas day with a stamp.

There are a lot of tags, large and small
and I love the library pockets!

The little banner bit, below, was die cut from a scrap.

I'm getting some Valentines Day gifts together and had a few of the focals on my desk so I had to add one, or two to my journal!
You can find those Valentine focals HERE

I'm sure I'll do more to this journal,
I may add a closure to the cover and do some more embellishing,
but I couldn't wait to share!

There is more info and photos of this kit over at
My Artistic Adventures blog HERE

You can also see the video that Heather put together over HERE.

If you would like to grab one of these kits
and I think you should,
you can find them HERE.

Thanks Heather for this wonderful Calendar Journal!

Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Happy Christmas!

Happy New Year everyone!

Back in 2016.....
this was a page I did in my art journal

I don't usually play with spray,
even though I have enough to play with!

And drippage has been something that I haven't liked every time I've tried it
but I am so happy with this!

I drew around an old tape dispenser roll,
for the circles and drew the tops on for the ornaments.

I haven't used my embossing powders in at least a year,
maybe two......
or three!
I had fun using them for my snowflakes!
I definitely need to get them out and use them more!

My new die...happy by Heidi Swapp.
I used a gold Wink-a-Stella pen and a sprinkling of embossing powder.

I also used my white posca pen for highlighting on the ornaments
